    Intermittent Transponder Mode C

I have a SV-XPNDR-261 transponder, hooked up to an ADVANCED AIRCRAFT ELECTRONICS HIGH GAIN TRANSPONDER ANTENNA. Recently, over the past few months, I have had recurring intermittent Transponder and Mode C Failures (as reported by various ATC controllers). Sometimes the controller reports that...

    AoA Calibration

Bottom line here is this (the point I was trying to elucidate). Since the AOA system does not know about the position of the flaps (or any other aerodynamic device that changes the aircraft configuration), once you have performed the AOA calibration procedure, (no matter how you do it or what...

    SkyView AOA and L/D Max

Except for very simple GA aircraft, most aircraft today have artificial feel systems such that you cannot "feel" the aircraft, as you describe, at least not directly. As to your comment about being in the minority, surely you are not saying <grin> that you simply take a poll before deciding what...

    SkyView AOA and L/D Max

The volume is controllable. and the information about what your aircraft is doing aerodynamically is incredibly informative. It saves me from putting my eyeballs in the cockpit (to check airspeed), for numerous other reasons... Without looking at any other instruments, I can tell, just from the...

    AoA Calibration

Don, Doesn't that depend on the flaps? I mean, putting trailing edge flaps out changes (increases) the angle of incidence of the wing. Yes the "new" wing will be able to go to a higher AOA than the clean wing, but that's measuring AOA relative to the Chord line of the wing, which has been tilted...

    SkyView AOA and L/D Max

Generally, when I calibrate the AOA system, I try to set it up so that the AOA tone starts at L/D max and increases ( as AOA increases), to become a steady tone just below max AOA. Then you can use the onset of the uscillating tone as an L/D max indication.

    AUDIO OUTPUT FAIL

At a minimum, can you reconfigure system to use only one of your screens? If so, I'd try to do that once with each of the two screens, and see if the audio panel issue is associated with only one of them... if that worked, you could at least save half the shipping/insurance costs...

    Skyview WiFi intermittent no communication.

Same problem! Happens with Foreflight on iPad and with iFlyGPS, on both iPad and multiple Android tablets.

Audio Level Issue after upgrading to v16.3.2

Went into config settings changed AOA tone volume from 95% to 35% but headset volume did not change. Is this a recognized defect?

Audio Level Issue after upgrading to v16.3.2

I also noticed definite volume increase in AOA tone. I have Dynon HDX, standard Dynon intercom, VHF transceiver, and Dynon AOA pitot tube system. If volume in config settings has no effect, is there some other way to adjust it?

    Power constraint for software updates

On the software update page it specifically says not to perform updates when the system is only powered by the backup battery. It says to only do updates when on Aircraft or external power. What is the reason for this restriction? Is it only insurance to make sure you don't completely lose power...

    Uploading flight plans from iFlyGPS

I can't seem to reliably upload flight plans from my EFIS, (iFlyGLS on a Samsung Android tablet), into Skyview on my HDX. I know it's not the wifi because I see ADS-B traffic on the tablet just fine. Is there some setting in Skview that I am missing?

    Anyone Tried ChartData Manager 6.6.0.2?

I have been using it since it was released, and am generally pleased. The last version was horrible, and this version seems to have corrected most of the issues I experienced with the prior one. (Download stopping in midstream over and over again, and having to be restarted was most annoying.)

Anyone know when an update is coming?

So 16.3 is functionally identical, (or extremely similar), to 16.2, differing only in changes made to make it compatible with changes in hardware components? If so that would imply that those of us with 16.2 and pre-pandemic hardware need not bother to upgrade when it is released?

    Fuel pressure sensor

Is the Dynon Fuel Pressure Sensor that comes with the Lycoming L-4C EMS package (part Number 103755-000 ) a solid state transducer or old diaphragm style ? ... I have it from other source that the one I have is a solid state transducer...

    Fuel pressure sensor

Can you guys tell me anything about normal failure modes of the Fuel pressure sensor included with your 4 cylinder carbureted Lycoming EMS package? Recently, I had intermittent fuel pressure readings below 1 psi, (at times it got as low as 0.3 - 0.4 psi), although it recovered and went back up...

USB ports on back of HDX

I have a panel mounted USB port on my instrument panel. For some time now, I have been experiencing intermittent failure of the port. When it happens I get a blank right hand screen when I try to to to the configuration screen where you go to "load files". The entire screen is blank. It's not...

    Problem with displayed winds

Re-Did a Ground Compass Calibration and that seems to have corrected the problem. Will repeat the In-flight Compass Cal as well tomorrow.

Seattle Avionics chart data… yet again

What they need to do is add a progress bar, (or two, - one for overall progress and a bar for progress within each category), and a green light that comes on when it's done. The "Update Complete" line in the activity monitor is not sufficient as it appears multiple times in some scenarios.

    Autopilot tuning: Altitude Capture Procedure.

Marc, HAH!! Thanks for embarrassing me! Guess I should read the whole thing before posting! I assumed that the "No" meant it is not doing the bad thing described in the diamond. But both Yes and No branches are still faults. In fact. everything on the entire branch of the chart after "...pass...
