Database Expired Warning, One Day Early?

Ah, the perils of using a Julian date. :) (just joking)

    SkyView software update

Did Garmin ever get back with you? The VAF crowd where you posted this question yesterday doesn't seem to be too concerned about the software.

    Skyview HDX Panel Installation Problems

BTW, for under $100 you can buy a GPS receiver-repeater on eBay. Our local avionics shop has one, SteinAir has one, and I bought one recently. It's nice to sit inside and do the work which requires a GPS signal. The receive and transmit antennas have to be some distance apart. Mine has a...

    Bugs and Knob Panel

Must a bug engaged via the knob panel be enabled on the joystick? It not, I'd disable it on the joystick to clean up the joystick bug menu and always adjust it via the knob panel.

Got it installed properly and it calibrated fine.

    Troubleshoot SV-MAG-236

Thanks for the comments. I can assure you I installed the SV-MAG-236 with the tabs down. Then we picked up the wing, turned it top side up and installed it in the airplane. Wait! Drat. Could I have? NO! But I did. And it's such a trying place to work with my big hands. Good catch...

    Designating Servo

The latest wrinkle is that after at least a dozen configurations and calibrations, for the first time the SV found the pitch servo as the pitch servo For the first time the calibration went right all the way through and resulted in the SV causing the stick and control surface to respond...

    Troubleshoot SV-MAG-236

I have ADAHRS-200 and 201 stacked and installed in my carbon fiber airplane. I also installed an SV-MAG-236 in one wing. This is for background. Why I have this setup is not the subject of this question. The 236 is detected by the configuration process. At least 5 compass calibrations have...

    Question arinc-429 wiring

Table 120 - SV-ARINC-429 D25F Connector, page 23-15 manual revision AF shows one. For my own part, I am not personally knowledgeable.

    Designating Servo

My understanding is that when there are two or more servos and they work you are correct. Mine is the case of where I have two servos but only one is identified in the config process, and it's the wrong one. Thus my suspicion that if SV sees only one servo it assumes it's a roll (wing-leveler)...

    Designating Servo

My original question is a simple one - how does SV designate the servo name. You can see by reading my OP that I did a system config and attempted calibration. I didn't include the information about how I tested the servo systems and eliminated all wiring issues (except in the undetected servo...

    Designating Servo

I have two physical servos in my airplane. The servo that is physically in the roll system is not being detected by the config system. The servo that is physically in the pitch system is identified and designated as "roll" servo in the calibration process. This leads me to the conclusion that...

    Dual SK & GTN625

With your hints and reviewing the manual I think I got the correct settings input today. Thanks again for the help.

    Dual SK & GTN625

That helps. I'll take the book to the plane and try to follow 12-8/9 settings and see how that goes.

    Map Update?

The Dynon website says the Base map is 2013-06-20 but my installed version says 2014-09-04. Do I just be happy and shut up, or do I wonder why my version appears to be more current than the web site? My Stadium TFR db is 2014-09-04. How do I tell if that is current? Do I assume my Hi-Res...

    Dual SK & GTN625

Setting up dual 10" Touch SkyView displays. Also have Garmin GTN625. GPS 2020 antenna and Garmin GA35 antenna. I'm getting good satellites in both. I don't understand all the setup. I have Serial Port 5 as GPS-2020 in POS1. How do I set up the Garmin GPS as the IFR input source? The Garmin...

    Heated Pitot - Boom Style

Flight Design USA sells a heated boom pitot tube that fits where the old one was. I bought one last year. I can get the part number for you later if you need it. You run 16 AWG wire to them not for the current but for the voltage drop. If I remember right, the tubing is 4mm. I don't...

    Manual Update Question

Thanks for the comments. I use both digital and paper, and generally prefer digital for searches and paper for studying an item in detail. I was wondering if the color was sufficiently useful to make it worthwhile and appreciate the observations. Apparently change filler pages are not...
