    New Airmate aviation data

Well, gee. I bought the lifetime subscription to Seattle Avionics a couple of years ago, even though my -8 wasn't flying yet. I've updated my USB drives regularly, and I don't have any problems doing so. Hope this new vendor doesn't mean my lifetime subscription is going to become worthless...

    Seattle Avionics .....normal monthly frustration....

I don't trust it. I don't even trust to screen saver not to F-up the DataManager downloads. I disable all that stuff when I'm running DataManager. The number of times I've pick up my laptop only to discover that "the program is not responding" have born out my mistrust.

    Seattle Avionics .....normal monthly frustration....

One thing I just remembered that can mess up the process is Win10's default powersave mode. Window will suspend after a set time if no activity is detected. For some reason, I don't think Win10 on my computer detects SA's DataManager downloading files in the background. I disabled the Win10...

    Seattle Avionics .....normal monthly frustration....

I run Parallels/Win10 on a MacBookPro/MacOS12.6.3. I have 4 Sandisk stuby 32G thumb drives. My routine is this: -Reboot Comcast broadband gateway (the longer you go without doing this, the slower it gets) -Update Parallels (Its a given) -Update Windows (Its a given, and it will be painful!)...

    Climbing using IAS

I was taught to bug AS for climb and VSI for descent. Outside of AP tuning, I wasn't aware this was an issue.

    Mounting tray for SV-D700

I don't think so. But, if you plan it out as part of your panel design, it wouldn't be all that hard to fab one up.

    GPU vs. Battery Charger

If I'm not mistaken, the MFJ 4230 has less than 50mV(RMS). The manufacturer's claim is less than 100mV(Peak-to-Peak), so that's approximate. But, that's pretty much the reason why I like just using a motorcycle battery for bench checking my avionics install. I just put the battery on a...

    COMM T8 vs T25

The T8 can be set to 25khz channel spacing. So, it would be the equivalent of the T25, with the added benefit that if you need 8.33khz channel spacing, you've got it with just a few button pushes. They're both Trig Ty91 radios that have been configured to work with the Dynon com panel.

    GPU vs. Battery Charger

That's great! Have you ever looked for AC in the output when that powersupply loads up? A couple of displays turned on with backup batteries charging ought to give it enough of a work out to put a Fluke with a couple of decent quality leads across the output just to look for any ripple. Its...

    GPU vs. Battery Charger

I was getting ready to post a couple of links about this. Looks like you beat me to it. Battery, and voltage regulator work together to provide nice DC conditioning for your avionics bus during normal operation. Make sure you've got equal quality of DC when using bench power!

    VP-X License "Delivery"?

How will I receive the VP-X license? I ordered it online last Saturday. Was expecting to receive an email with a link to a "license" with a long character string to enter into Skyview's VP-X setup page. So far, I haven't received anything? Did I miss something?

    GNS 430 wiring

That looks like a serial connection. I've got the contrail generators mapped to pin 9.

    GNS 430 wiring

I completely missed the audio alerts from GNS to the unswitched audio input for the audio panel. Great catch!

    GNS 430 wiring

    GNS 430 wiring

I was hoping someone would actually share how they wired their GNS 430 into a Skyview equipped aircraft similar to what I listed in the original post. Guess snarky comments is the best I can expect. Thanks anyway.

    GNS 430 wiring

Anyone care to share their wiring diagrams or pinouts for GNS 430 to Skyview? I think I have it figured out. But, I'd love to see how someone else did it. I have 2 SV-700 classic displays, the SV-ARINC429, SV-XPNDR-261 (mode S) and a PSE PMA-6000B Audio Panel. I also have the SV-GPS-2020...

    SV-COM-PANEL Power with T25 transciever

@Rhino, thanks for your help. Your prodding irritated me so much, I had to keep at it to find the answer. What ever you do, I don't recommend going into tech support. I was able to confirm that the power input for the SV-COM-Panel with X25 transceiver is ship's power on pin one and airframe...

    SV-COM-PANEL Power with T25 transciever

Thanks for your reply. I don't see anything on page 9 of the SV-INTERCOM-2S installation guide about powering the SV-COM-PANEL. Also, I'm not asking about the pin out for the T25 or the intercom. I'm asking specifically about power in (pin 1 of D15M) and ground (pin 2 of D15M) to the...
