Aircraft is on the no services list - ADS-B report

The GPS250 antenna is not ADSB-compliant, if you are using the Dynon source for the transponder ADSB-out data. You will need to upgrade to the GPS-2020 antenna from Dynon and load the latest software.

IFR, and IFR into IMC in an E-LSA

Adding the 91.205 required equipment for IFR is not a "major alteration" - but depending on which FSDO is making the call adding an autopilot might be. "Major alteration" is one that has a significant risk of change in the operational characteristics of the airplane - how it flies, how it...

IFR, and IFR into IMC in an E-LSA

If your oplims says you are good for IFR while complying with 91.205, that's all there is to it. Comply and fly.

    Single Axis Autopilots?

If you're in the business of selling stuff, you pay attention to what people want to buy. Not many people with a certified (or experimental, for that matter) aircraft that are interested in purchasing/installing an autopilot are going to prefer a single-axis to a dual-axis.

Trouble with Seattle Avionics DataManager.... again....

I bought the lifetime subscription back in 2015 for Skyview data, but now when trying to download it I get a message that there is no subscription for my login/password combination. I know I haven't changed my password or login ID since I started, so that's not it. I even uninstalled the program...

    Software Update v16

Looks like Sun 'n Fun in mid-April intends to make a go of it.

    Procedures in flight plan

If you are on an IFR flight plan, using a certified navigation device is the only "official" way to do it. You could ask for vectors and fly a heading also.

    Software Update v16

Lightning detection coming in with ADSB.

    SkyView Classic bearing pointers

You can select the source of the nav data to display on the Skyview - but if it originates from Skyview itself it's not IFR-legal. It works great for VFR nav though and the flight planning functions are excellent. Change sources to a certified IFR receiver and you've got the best of both worlds.

    Knuckoll's Z-11 Low Voltage Warning

Nearly everything in the panel these days has a low-voltage alert - and Dynon has the ability to make it an aural alert in the headset at well, for both low-voltage and high-amperage discharge from the battery.

    USB sticks in HDX

There is a known bug with some USB device drivers - rumor has it that software version 16.0 will fix this bug - and rumor also has it that 16.0 will be released sometime in the next few weeks.

    Dynon Nav Data Update

The USB drive can be used for multiple things, certainly. I currently use mine for the Dynon update, the Seattle Avionics chart data, and my Avidyne IFD440 update - plus keeping screenshots and flightplans - all on the same drive. As long as you have enough space, the Seattle Avionics data plays...

    Skyview Wish List

True enough - but you're also asking Dynon to develop a function for a small percentage of the market. They have to decide if the business case makes sense to dedicate the engineering and software labor hours to that function instead of something else that may have more value to the company...

    Dynon Nav Data Update

The SkyViewUS folder has only one purpose - it exists only to tell the ChartData Manager to create the Chartdata folder and download all the data into it. No data exists in the SkyViewUS folder, it is an identification tag only for the USB drive that tells the download program to go do its...

    Skyview Wish List

Not disputing your assertion of illegality - but I would ask the question if ANY pilot EVER has been prosecuted for that silliness.

    Skyview Wish List

Seems to me that you are using at least as much time that way as manually entering the frequency - and if it's a "favorite" frequency then memory of the frequency number is not the issue.

    Transponder Serial Number?

The first time I had mine checked, during Phase I, they asked for it and I didn't have it. Went dumpster diving behind the baggage compartment to pull the transponder to read the serial, and the tech had a sharpie in his hand already - wrote it on top where it can be seen without having to do...

    GPS 2020 problems?

I would certainly not advocate ignoring the manufacturers recommendations - but we all (or most of us anyway) also recognize that there is a large amount of CYA involved in those recommendations that is not compatible with experimental aviation.

    GPS 2020 problems?

Not necessarily. I have the Dynon GPS2020, Garmin 430W, and G5 antennas all nustled up snugly together under my cowling. No issues at all, 5 years and 720+ hours now. To your point though - SOME antennas do not play nicely with others - but a blanket statement is not a true one. Testing your...

    ADSB Problems...need help

As mentioned above, ADSB-OUT is what the FAA cares about, and that is sent through your transponder. The transponder can get the ADSB information from the 430W or from the Dynon Skyview system, but if you are using the Skyview then you'll have to upgrade to the GPS-2020 receiver, since the 250...
