    Backup instrumentation?

Dynon - for full IFR backup instrumentation, I'm looking at the D6 or D10A as a backup display to my Skyview in case of screen failure (or primary ADAHRS failure) in IMC. A complete standalone screen is valuable as-is with it's own magnetometer and ADAHRS just as a visual device, but can I also...

    Dual com and intercom problems?

I've got one in my panel, and I'll second that. It's a good, cheap audio panel with a lot of functionality.

    Trafic infromation displayed

What was the location? I know where I operate it's not uncommon for me to be at 4500 (2000 agl) before I can be identified on radar. Is it possible the traffic was out of radar coverage there?

    Switching calibration sets?

Dynon - followup question regarding switching the datasets - once the files are stripped of extraneous data and contain just the fuel calibration info as described earlier, is there a specific file name format that needs to be followed for Skyview to recognize it?

Red Fail NIC on FAA report on N966RV

Maybe it's just a quirk of the roof design, but in my hangar I have a 40' tall roof with some fiberglass skylights (this is actually an 80'x120' barn, sharing space with farm tractors) and I get a solid lock very quickly with my GPS-2020, even with the doors closed.

Red Fail NIC on FAA report on N966RV

Do we need to specifically push the firmware to the transponder with this, or will it automatically update when we load this version?

    My Winds Aloft Reading Error

I had about 9-10 knots error in mine, and as Skysailor pointed out the port was fine - I found a leak in my tubing. I'm flying an RV9A. Once I got that leak fixed I'm showing less than a knot difference between GPS 3-direction calculated versus Dynon calculated TAS.

    D10A STC

Wish I was at Sun 'N Fun this week to see the Garmin booth guys cryin' in their beer. Their corner on the market is visibly crumbling.

    Zoom In/Out Buttons

Ha!! Just learned something good! It bugs me that the zoom in/out was "backwards" with respect to rotation, I figured I just needed to live with it, now I know I can change it!

    Security Code

I would kind of like to see the "option" of having a keyed hardware module to place somewhere within the subpanel structure and be included on the Skyview Network, that would enable the panel to operate. Remove the panel without that module, and the panel is useless. It would be a very odd thief...

    Fuel level calibration question

Dynon - with the standard resistive float sensors, during the calibration routine if only the empty and full points are set and the 2-gallon routine is not followed, will the system assume a direct linear response between the empty and full points based on the voltage difference and display the...

    Security Code

My first thought would be to just file the insurance claim and be done with it - but this is a valid question actually. I'm not entirely sure how it would be accomplished without a keep-alive circuit bypassing the master switch, which I'm not crazy about either. Perhaps a hard-wired...

    SV-262 Transponder

Now we've even got the Forum Admin confused! The -261 is the higher power "Class 1" transponder, the -262 is the lower power "Class 2" transponder. This - from the Skyview Transponder page - "The FAA ADS-B "final rule" only allows the higher power Class 1 transponder to be used as an ADS-B...

    SV-262 Transponder

You're mixing the models - there are two versions of the transponder, model 261 and model 262. The 261 is the higher power model (250 watt) that is OK for ADSB post-2020, the 262 is the lower-power model (130 watt). If you have the -261 model, you are just fine.

    SA ChartData / ChartData Manager

Steve, I've been critical of your software in the past, but in this one I have to say you've got it right - the install went quickly and painlessly. I'm glad to see some progress in the right direction.

430W software version for ARINC interface?

Thanks, I'm getting my cooling issues resolved on the engine in Phase I and rapidly approaching some happy button-pushing time.

430W software version for ARINC interface?

Dynon - which software versions on the 430W are required for the ARINC-429 interface to drive the autopilot for guidance? In this case I have the GPS-2020 so I'm good with ADSB, I don't need the ADSB+ software version for that purpose.

    autopilot -- stick shaker?

If you want the audio for the AOA to start a few knots faster, recalibrate it per the standard AOA calibration routine, but don't go all the way to a full stall. Pull the speed back to 3-4 knots above full stall then recover and hit the "stall" button on the AOA, you've now calibrated it to be...

Probable fix for AP disconnects, cautions, red-x

I loaded 14.0.7 this morning uneventfully, flew 2 hours with no issues. Watching for updates, I'm grounded for probably 2 weeks for some major fiberglass work on my engine plenum and cowling. With work and family commitments my free time to play with this hobby is limited.

    Switching calibration sets?

Here is a datapoint for the group, on the differences in the capacitive sender response between fuels. I have calibrated my left tank on 100LL and the voltage ranges from 0.835 to 1.165 volts (empty to full), and when calibrated on 91 octane premium auto gas the voltage ranges from 0.801 to...
