    Blue line

Well, I must be configuring something wrong. Unfortunately, this is difficult to test on the ground, but looking at the ASI in six pack mode, I see nothing on the ASI except the standard colored arcs. I'll dig deeper

    Blue line

I miss the blue line (Va) marking on the ASI in my old aircraft. Although it is a programmable number in the SkyView, it is not displayed on screen. I notice this most in six-pack mode. I currently work around it by setting my airspeed bug, but that is not preferred. What's up? Vern

    Stick shaker

I used to manufacture a glareshield mounted AoA indicator for the D1x systems. It was popular, but I found that it was not the best way to indicate AoA for the average VFR pilot. Because it was not foolproof, I chose to discontinue it in favor of Dynon's progressive audio indication. Still...

    Ammeter wonky indication.

Thanks Jake. That's my guess as well. A whole lot of shaking going on with my IO540. Not as smooth as I would like. Prop is balanced but I wonder if the prop indexing is optimal

    Ammeter wonky indication.

Odd behaviour on todays flight. My ammeter, with the shunt in series with the alternator, was reading negative current and was erratic. Switching off loads increased the magnitude of the negative indication. Voltage was rock solid at 14.3 V. After a two hour layover, everything was normal...

    Simple/Cheaper Black Box for Autotrim?

This device does not require any panel space. http://makerplane.org/?p=1919 I developed it for the SkyView system prior to Dynon's AP introduction. Complete documentation is avalable here: http://54.162.78.90/redmine/documents/45 Cheers, Vern Little

    FltPlan Go

After a lot of teething trouble, I now like what I am seeing with FltPlan GO.  It is the only flight planning app that provides free access to Canadian charts and flight supplement data. I hate paying more for my multiple aviation data subscriptions than engine depreciation.  In my case, in...

Electronic stability and protection for Skyview

OK, here are some videos showing NASA's GCAS.  One of my companies (Iris Dynamics) provided the control-loading flight sim yoke to NASA for the R&D and provided support at Oshkosh. http://youtu.be/_dvugGoPr8w http://youtu.be/Erz4cdRNWZI The point here is that the software could run in the SV...

Screen Layout Req: PFD full on top EMS on bottom

More flexibility on screen layout and font sizes is a common request.  I struggle with the legibility of my 7 inch sv screen. I find that a 40% map on my 10 inch screen is more legible than a full screen map on the 7 inch, due to the font size. Putting engine info along the bottom or on 5 %...

    Transponder code display

First, sorry for posting this in the wrong forum. I have always had both SkyView units wire-or'd with both TX and RX to the transponder. See http://www.vx-aviation.com/sprocket/photos/panel_elec/schematics/EFIS.pdf However, duh, I now realize that it's the transponder that is not powered up...

    Transponder code display

I noticed that the xpndr code won't display on my main SkyView screen if the second screen is offline. I can fix this by disconnecting the secondary screen's serial port from the transponder but it kind of defeats the purpose of screen redundancy. I can still enter the code, it just won't...

Using the new Autopilot trim with VPX

Not quite, Jake. I developed an autotrim controller that does not require panel mounting. Available from Makerplane, called the M-PWR-2AT. Was actually introduced before the Dynon version was released. http://makerplane.org/?page_id=1915 Admittedly not as tightly integrated as the Dynon...

    Connecting Powerflarm Core to Skyview

I have a Garmin Aera connected as a Position source using only one wire. The second wire is not required. For that matter, it's not even required for the Dynon puck (yet). Vern

    Shyview with PocketFMS vs Jeppensen

Comparing the Jepp database on my Aera vs PFMS.... the airspace frequencies in jepp are flat out wrong. In PFMS, they used to be wrong but I worked with them to correct. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to access the information on screen, so I now just use paper charts for freq info. I am...
