    EMS sensor programming

It turns out that you cannot use an arbitrary file name for the definition file. It's safe to use the default filename when you "save as", then edit the contents. Arbitrary file names are not recognized by Skyview, such as "mysensor.sfg". Took me a while to figure this out. V

    Overdriving EMS Type A inputs.

... I knew you'd ask.  The diagram is idealized.  The actual circuit is here: IL-4A. I've put the diodes in, everything is good now.  I had this problem years ago with another engine monitor and had the same fix.  Too bad you can't make every input type C.  The reason I have both annunciators...

    Overdriving EMS Type A inputs.

I have a situation where I am overdriving type A inputs on the EMS.  In this situation (diagram A below), current is being sunk by the EMS input, causing the LED to glow faintly. Diagram B is my proposed fix, but is it also possible to just progam the input pull-up to 200K?  I'm worried about...

Dynon Avionics Pitot/Static Test White Paper

I've read the white paper that describes the work-around for the pitot-static testing bug. In Canada, we need to have a static system and transponder certification every two years.  This means that a certified avionics shop does the testing.  I've had this performed several times. It is...

    Dynon ADS-B for Skyview

Ahhh.. not clear from your documentation that GPS position data is passed over the #1 link.  Thanks for the clarification. Vern

    Dynon ADS-B for Skyview

#1 - SV-XPNDR-261 #2 - SV-XPNDR-261 GPS position (output only) and panel port #3 - Garmin SL30 Nav In and Comm Out (waiting for Dynon to Support) #4 - Garmin Aera 500 (input only) as alternate GPS device #5 - SV-GPS-250 It's possible to recover port #2 and repurpose for ADS-B if GPS data from a...

    New Trig Radio

My frustration with Dynon is that they are letting Trutrak into the 3" EFIS game with the Gemini ADI and Gemini PFD.  You should have investigated this a bit more before you posted your comment... the PFD will directly compete with the D6 and D10A, but will be better for the back seat in tandems...

    New Trig Radio

My expectation of the SV radio is that it will also contain an intercom/audio panel, with software controlled volume controls, muting and music capability. The radio then replaces the intercom as well, in about the same form factor as a normal intercom. My challenge to Dynon is... why reinvent...

    New Trig Radio

...But the Dynon Comm will take both panel space and a remote tray.  I disagree that there are a lot of *accessible* remote mount locations in our small aircraft.  They are just not designed that way.    For example, look at the pain and suffering builders are going through finding an...

    New Trig Radio

In my opinion, this move towards remote avionics is not welcomed.  It turns out that it's more difficult to mount a remote box on a tray than to have a conventional panel mount device as long as there is enough depth behind the panel.  Access to a remote tray is often very difficult unless...

SV Remote (back seat) screen minimum connections

I'm looking to install a D700 for the GIB. In addition to the SVN and power connections, are there any other required connections? For example, will the GPS info be transmitted on the SVN to the 'slave' EFIS, or do I need to hook these wires up as well? V

    EMS Data Output

Here's a convenient place that has summary of the Dynon Air Data and Engine Data streams.  It should be immune to the clerical errors in byte numbering from Dynon's documentation because it was generated using a spreadsheet. These data stream summaries were generated by an interoperability...

Est. Release date for audio (voice) alerts

Question about the Audio outputs. The SV systems have stereo outputs.  Is this intended at some point in the future as an entertainment function, or always as an alarm/warning function? The difference is that the entertainment function should be wired to a mutuable input on an intercom, but...

SkyView Network Wiring and use of Splitters

Or, you could use one of these: This was designed specifically for use in SkyView networks to replace a tree of splitters and centralize the wiring. Thanks, Vern Little www.vx-aviation.com

    SkyView streaming air data

Thanks, I'd appreciate early access to your new format so that appropriate modifications/testing can be done to our device well in advance. For example, if you are extending your sentence length, but leaving the current information in its present position, then we will not have to make any...

    SkyView streaming air data

I'd like to confirm that streaming air data (D10A compatible) will be one of the serial port output options on the SV systems. Our V-Speed ADS (Glareshield AoA indicator) has seen a sudden surge in popularity now that pilots find AoA a "must have".  It would be nice for the SV to drive it...

    External AoA Indicator

Due to popular demand, much arm twisting and feelings of guilt, our remote AoA indicator is back in production. The V-Speed ADS has more than 5 years flight experience in numerous aircraft, and is supported by both Dynon and GRT Avionics. MGL is also considering support. The V-Speed ADS is a...

    SkyView Network Wiring Hub

The boards won't have enclosures. This reduces size, weight and cost (especially cost). If mounted in an exposed location, you may fabricate an aluminum shroud if you wish, but most installations will be well protected behind an instrument panel. If you want fully enclosed versions, you can...
