v15 bug(?) - HSI no longer circular

If we make the HSI circular, we have to make it narrower. We're out of space to make it taller. With it being wider than tall, the numbers across your current heading and reciprocal heading are farther apart because that's the stretched axis. So 1 degree of turn moves the top of the arc more...

    Redundant power/ground in Skyview network

The second set of power wires are there for redundancy, and the system knows if they are hooked up and checks for them. If you don't hook them up, you'll get a warning on SkyView every time you power it on. You don't have to run the EMS aux volt however.

    V15 Weight & Balance

The W&B page is purposefully devoid of units. When you set up the limits for your plane, you can do them in any units you want. W&B settings for the aircraft are in aircraft information if I am remembering correctly... The manual will be out shortly.

    SkyView 15.0 Update Now Available

You read right, and you are right, it's awesome. Here's a quick video from my flight to Oshkosh this summer...

    HDX and Touch compatibility

v15 adds a bunch of awesome features to all SkyView displays. Highway in the Sky, runway centerlines on the map, navigation to runways, aircraft maintenance tracking, and more. Non-HDX SkyView has not been discontinued, and as you can see we've continued to add features.

Getting Seattle Avionics approaches to migrate to

Additionally, to use a GPS as a primary reference in IFR, it must "meet the requirements of the TSO" which is 800 pages long. Dynon does not make any statements about this for our products, so it's up to you to determine if using SkyView as your only reference is legal. Maybe you are only using...

    261 Transponder CA=5?

N456TS, We're going to send you an email to work on this more directly. There's clearly some configuration stuff going on here, and it's probably easier to work directly with you and flightaware. We'll try and follow up in this thread once we have it all worked out.

    Lost Vertical Speed

Are you running on a 40% screen (3 things displayed)? It squishes off in that configuration due to space issues. The pointer is still shown but the digital value is not.

    AOA system

An actual AoA sensor is used. Dynon's AoA is directly measured, not derived from other data.

    Comant VHF/GPS Antenna CI-2480-200

Lynn, None of Dynon's GPS equipment requires a separate antenna. Our "antennas" are actually the whole GPS unit all in the small external box. So you'd have nothing to hook up.

    ADSB traffic ghosting

Thanks for everyone's input. We've sent it all to the FAA and there definitely is something up with the radar in that region, which they are looking into. It is not a Dynon issue.

    ADSB traffic ghosting

Sounds like ADS-B in the TX area is acting up. We've seen this before and it's always been an FAA issue. We'll contact them, but it would help if you also wrote to adsb@faa.gov with your experience.

    Adding a second SV, EMS

He's not adding a second ems. He's adding a second SkyView screen, and also adding an EMS to the system. He didn't have an EMS before. Isn't English wonderful?! :)

    backup battery

As Steve says, fly. If you really need to charge it on the ground, you need to put a battery charger on your aircraft battery and turn on SkyView. SkyView needs to see a main power bus above 12.25V to charge. There's no way to charge the battery by itself.

    Transponder Setting at Startup
