    Transponder interference

In our experience, the issue is the RG-58. This cable leaks a lot more RF energy than RG-400, and this can get into the audio system. We've had customers with this issue before and a swap to RG-400 fixed it. This is why our install manual doesn't specify RG-58 as acceptable even though it...

    SkyView update

Yes. You can go from any version directly to any other version. There's a slightly different process for pre-4.0 systems but you can still go direct.

    Suggesting adding a mute button

So first, we can't delay the audio in SkyView for most radios. We have no idea when they are receiving, so we can't wait. We could with some radios like the Dynon. However, there are a lot of issues if we did: 1) What do you do if SkyView is saying "Oil" when the radio receives? You just stop...

    Airport Diagram Feature Request

That is the documentation for the feature. You do need to be moving slowly on the airport surface for this to trigger. If you're still doing 20 knots down the runway, it will assume you are in flight and try and grab the last approach plate used. You of course also need to be at an airport that...

    Airport Diagram Feature Request

On the ground, press and hold the MAP knob for 2 seconds. It will pop up the airport diagram for the airport you are at.

AOA calibration and full power stalls.

When you hear the beeping is adjustable in the audio menu. You should calibrate it so it goes solid at or before the break of the stall, and then use the audio menu to adjust when it first becomes audible.

CAN GND HIC A AND HIC B on Rotax 912 iS installati

There is not a dedicated wire. The Rotax CAN GND just needs to go to any ground for the electrical system. This can be found on pins 3, 5, 13, 16, 17, or 30 on the EMS connector, or you can just ground it to a convenient common ground.

    GPS 2020 mounting location

As an FYI on the tech background with the cable length- the Garmin GPS is designed to assume there would be cable, and most planes need 10+ feet. So they put a lot of gain in the system, assuming there would be loss. So to maximize performance for the average plane (10+ feet) they designed the...

    Lost HSI+ALT

Not a setup thing. Go into the PFD menu in fight and press HSI SRC. Or, on a touch screen, just touch the HSI info block that is next to the HSI. Page 4-14 and 4-30 of the user guide.

    Lost HSI+ALT

You also need a active flight plan in SkyView. You don't get HSI+ALT if you haven't given it a place to go.

    Database transfer

This is possible with Android devices, but not Apple ones. Apple doesn't let you use the USB port in the way that would be needed to make this work. It may be possible to use an external USB drive that plugs in to the Phone/Tablet and download the file to that drive, then plug the drive into...

    GPS 2020 mounting location

Yes, there can be an issue with very old 121.5 ELT's capturing the COM radiation and re-radiating on 121.5 where the 13th harmonic is near the GPS band. This also has dependence on your COM-ELT distance. However, this isn't an issue with a 406 ELT (even if it has 121.5 as well), and given this...

    GPS 2020 mounting location

There should be no issue with an ELT near a GPS.

Target traffic altitude inc, arrow dec

As a note here, the data about climb/level/descent is sent to us, not something we calculate. Chances are very good we'll see that the sent data did, in fact tell us to display exactly that, and then the only solution is to track down the aircraft that did it and try and debug their system.

    Fuel sensor paralleling

Without knowing what your capacitance probes are we can't say. Even if you do parallel things, you get no redundancy since the failure of one instrument is likely to take out the other one. You also can't parallel fuel flow senders without knowing details of the hardware inside each instrument.

    HOBBS counting without oil pressure.

This could also be caused by an improperly set up oil pressure sensor. To figure this out, you need to actually look at the displayed RPM and oil pressure displays on the engine screen and make sure OIL PRESS is zero. If it isn't displayed, shows an error, or shows pressure, then this will cause...

    Transponder GND VS ALT mode

SAFO 15006 is unfortunately poorly written, and doesn't cover Mode-S transponders well unless you somehow already knew how ground mode works. We answered here a while ago, which hopefully answers your question: http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1433394211 Bottom line, Dynon's...

    XPDR Caution

Dynon's equipment, including the transponder, is designed to be on during engine start. It doesn't appear that Steve's transponder has been damaged at all, so that's not the issue. It also doesn't appear that the transponder wasn't working while the message was displayed. It appears that the...

    Routing harnesses , etc.

It is fine to bundle all the wires. You don't need to separate the data wires from power wires. As you say, you can hook any voltage 0-36V into pin #2 and display that if you want.

    Battery missing/ fualt Caution Code

As Tom says, this warning is for SkyView's backup battery that provides power if the master power fails. Your system had one connected at some point, but now no longer does, either because it was removed, or it has failed. You can go into setup and tell it you no longer have a battery and the...
