We've changed the tool and are in the process of updating the video to match. If you follow the instructions in the white box on the Excel sheet they are correct. The video is not. The upside is that you just need to hit SAVE now and you will directly save the exact file you need right onto the...

    Checklist using Open Office

The checklists file uses macros and scripts. It does not work in clones of Excel which don't fully implement the Excel scripting language. We'll make this more clear in the file and downloads page.

Jeff, I don't have a MAC handy until Monday. If you can check the attached, it uses a different method for the GetSaveAsFilename that Microsoft says will work on a Mac. We'll get it working! --Ian

Position indication on startup with ver 14

What version did you come from? The position not available warning is new-ish (v11 maybe) and is required for ADS-B with or without the 2020 GPS. The question mark has been on the plane for about 4 years when you don't have a lock. The fact that you see the question mark means SkyView sees the...

    Checklists

Excel was a fast way to get a step beyond the text editor. The issue with an on-line tool is saving and loading so you can actually revise over time. We'll take a look at HTML5 though and see where it gets us.

Here's V4 with a form control for the Save button instead of ActiveX. Does that make it work better on a Mac desktop? http://dynonavionics.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?action=downloadfile;file=SV_Checklist_Creator_v4.xlsm

Jeff, It should run on a Mac desktop as well. Do you know how we could make it run on the online versions? It needs to run some custom code or it isn't going to work. It isn't just saving a CSV. If we wrote our own EXE it wouldn't run online or on a Mac or iPad either....

    Checklists

That's why we made checklists a text file- so they could be edited and created on almost any device. We have example files that anyone with a text editor can edit. However, they do have some structure that must be followed, and for many people a graphical interface like Excel works better. It...

    Checklists

Here is v3 of the tool. This one uses actual scripts to save directly to the checklist format. No cutting pasting, and manually saving needed. It also allows you to use names that are not exactly 40 characters ;) Keep the feedback coming...

    Manual Trim versus electric

Adding the AP74 will make your AP operation a bit easier with dedicated AP buttons, but there is some overlap with the buttons and knob on the HS34. The AP74 does not control electric trim, so you'll have to add buttons and a relay deck for that and it won't interact with the AP. You may be...

    Checklists

Apologies for some misinformation that we've had a hand in spreading about "bad" characters causing checklists not to load. That was half-true  :( The MAJOR problem with generating a SkyView checklist is that the checklist file isn't being saved with "UTF-8 Character Encoding". This is easy to...

    Joystick stuck

Go into your PFD menu and select bugs. On your LH screen, you have the IAS, CRS, HDG, VS and ALT bugs turned off. However, these should be synchronized if the two screens are networked together. When you adjust baro on one screen does it change on the other?

    Joystick stuck

The MAP knob is "forced" to MAP on the side of the screen that has a MAP displayed. If you click it up/down left/right the map should be panning. Or go into a map menu and make sure it navigates. I'd check that the hardware is working first. Go into the setup menu (buttons 7&8 for 2 seconds)...

Position indication on startup with ver 14

That just means your GPS does not yet have a lock. Are you in your hangar when you boot up or does the GPS have a clear view of the sky?

    D180-Season variation on OAT accuracy?

As designed (and if built correctly) there is no electrical continuity from the active elements of the the 100433-001 OAT probe with the aluminum tube of the OAT. It's conceivable that your OAT might have this happen (been built incorrectly so a component or wire in the OAT is shorting to the...

    AOA - No audio

Do you have more than one screen, and if so, is the audio wired to both screens? You can go into the audio menu on each screen and do a test in there if you are unsure.

    SV-AP Panel circuit breaker

Alan, Remember, breakers protect wires, not circuits. So technically, you use whatever breaker is right for the wire size you used, not the loads. You can use a smaller breaker if you have a reason to. That being said, the SV-AP panel supports a maximum of 4A of trim loads, which is what the...
