    HDX locked up in flight

Agreed - though it's difficult to pin down. It's certainly a small number of total cases, though it seems all or most of them have occurred with the Sandisk 16GB stick. I simply quit using that variety and have not have any other problems.

    HDX locked up in flight

Yes, it locked up in flight on me - when I tried to save a screenshot twice, and once when I was pulling up a sectional view from the stick. It has something to do with Skyview accessing the wonky stick and getting "stuck" due to problems with read/write on the stick. I don't know the...

    HDX locked up in flight

I had 3 failures with Sandisk 16GB, both 2.0 and 3.0. I am currently running Sandisk 32GB 3.0 and have not had any failures, and just ordered some Kingston 32GB 3.0 drives to try out.

    HDX locked up in flight

Not so much rumor, actually - I've seen it first hand in my aircraft. I know a few others have too. It appears to be isolated to Sandisk USB sticks, and only a couple sizes of them. I shipped one of my offending sticks to Dynon for post-mortem about a year ago upon isolating and confirming the...

    Sky View fuel levels

The fuel level sensors are quite accurate and sensitive near the bottom of the fuel capacity, where you want them to be. With the dihedral of the RV wings, when the tanks are full the float sensor is at the end of its travel and cannot sense the last few gallons - this is a limitation of the...

    Not receiving ADSB Weather

I saw this as well yesterday - had traffic on the screen and was picking up ADSB-in weather but not Regional/Conus radar for a while. Must have been an issue with the ground network uplinking the data.

A little different oil temp behavior - temp drops, then returns

If your other sensors with engine grounding are stable, then yes that narrows the likely candidates a bit.

    Software Update v16

Agreed, I've never been able to see traffic overlaid on my approach plates.

A little different oil temp behavior - temp drops, then returns

100% guaranteed it's a sensor or wiring issue - you cannot physically change the temperature of the oil that quickly. Could be a failing sensor, or more likely a poor ground. If it's a single-wire temp sensor it will ground through the engine, so you'll want to pull the sensor out, clean the...

    ChartData Manager

I love the data. I have a lot of hate for the coders of the delivery vehicle.

    Is this Traffic Advisory genuine?

It's not a Skyview defect, it's an ATC artifact, as I understand it. I'll let Dynon fill in the details of exactly how but it's been seen and addressed before.

    Feature request - fuel remaining

Same can be said for the current setup. Stable cruise is the only time either of them are accurate.

What makes Skyview “legal” for IFR?

Aaaahhhh - and there's the rub.... Basically the only way to show without a doubt that it performs to the standard is to do all the same testing required to achieve the TSO in the first place. That is neither fast nor cheap.

    Is this Traffic Advisory genuine?

I've seen that before, I believe it's an artifact of the groundstation losing contact with that traffic target momentarily and transmitting bad data up to you. The traffic would have to be travelling about Mach 1.4 or thereabouts for that track to be factual, which is not impossible at your...

    Feature request - fuel remaining

That was not the "fuel remaining" request I was expecting to see, I was going to chime in and repeat the earlier requests for having a measurement of fuel remaining at the destination. We have a fuel remaining at next waypoint calculation - but that's not nearly as useful for determining the...

Database Expired Warning, One Day Early?

Yes, of course it will... duhhh... which means they will probably delay software release 16 (some more) to add that to it.

Database Expired Warning, One Day Early?

Somehow, I think it's quite likely that will be included in a software update prior to the next Leap Year event.

    SkyView Touch Audible "Message" Alert

It's possible you have a "contact" input on the EMS that has a disconnected or broken wire and thus has a floating voltage or is occasionally grounding out somewhere. This can produce a brief fleeting "contact" or not, due to vibration and movement of the wire, and trigger the aural warning but...

Skyview and Avidyne Power on Self Test (POST)

Same here, Skyview and a 430W in my 9A, got my instruction and check ride in my airplane, and have not looked back since. The RV9A is a terrific instruments platform with the autopilot.

Skyview and Avidyne Power on Self Test (POST)

All the information you are looking for is in the manuals (section 4) if you'll read them carefully - but your display is showing the correct indications and is receiving startup calibration data from your IFD-540. Do you currently have an instrument rating?
