    ZAON XRX Pinout

Re: ZAON XRX Pinout - UPDATE (HELP!!) Confused and discouraged... I checked the Zaon XRX wiring to the SV. I'm using Port 3 and connected to the Green wire with Purple stripe (RX). However, when powering everything up, I see only the TX values going up when checking the status. Also, on the...

    ZAON XRX Pinout

In order to have both the SV and Garmin (496) see traffic, would I chose the "Profile 1" as recommended by Zaon for the SV, or "Garmin"? I'll check the RX counter, per your recommendation. I think I may just have wired to port 4 and logically selected port 3. Most likely "operator error".

    ZAON XRX Pinout

MMarien, Are you getting traffic on the SV and Garmin units, simultaneously? OR, since the menu selection on the Zaon supports one at a time, do you just decide from which you want to see traffic? Although I've connected mine to the SV, it's still not showing up. I may have selected the...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

First thing this evening, I'll check on that. They worked perfectly fine, the way they were wired, for the previous system (BMA One). I'm down to that last little issue, besides one with my new Zaon XRX, that I'll address after researching that thread.

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

OR...photon torpedoes? ::) On a serious note, I swapped around the wires on the CHTs, but during run-up, they only got up to about 98 degrees, even with the cowling in place. They are J-types, as recommended by the Dynon Installation Manual. The K-type EGT temps got up to about 1100 degrees...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

    1. It is hooked up to the fuel pressuse sending unit (0-30 psi) for the carb-powered O-320. Comes up to about 4.2 psi with fuel boost on. Oil pressure is reading fine. 2. But..but...there is airspeed, I was flying, really...I was. :o 3. I will be doing some digging tonight to find that...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

First flight, all seemed good, BUT: 1. Using Dynon 0-30 psi sending unit, plugged into proper pin, reads only about 2.1 psi when in cruise at 2500', 18" MP and 2200 RPM. 2. "GPS ASSIST" reads across the PFD Screen, but I'm sure there's something in the install manual about that. 3. No...

    Mapping Details and GPS Code

The aircraft is still not flyable...but expect to fire up the whole system this afternoon, with much anticipation on everything coming up. Expect to take to the air in a week, two at the very most. I will upload the file recommended and see if any detail returns. Thanks. R/ Frank

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

EUREKA!!! My setup for the EMS is to use two terminal blocks, one for the 25-pin and another for the 37-pin connectors. This way, I can attach the sensor wire to the terminal block and then have a connector attached to the terminal block to the EMS. This was all done by the builder to make it...

    Skyview Acro Capabilities

A friend of mine is contemplating installing the SV-1000 in an Extra 300. If he overwhelms the ADAHRS during his play-time, is there a way to reset the system without powering down the SV-1000?

    Mapping Details and GPS Code

Upon firing up the SV-1000 for the first time, I noticed that there was a lot of detail and airports were depicted (Dynon GPS and Garmin 496 are integrated and operating). I upgraded to 3.1, then 3.1.1 and those details disappeared. Now, when I look to get GPS details, I find the need for a...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

MMarien, Thanks for the photo. I looked at the diagram in the install manual and did just that. I think I left about an inch from the crimped connector, but soldered the resistor inline and reinforced with shrink wrap, but left the resistor exposed (leaving no metal exposed) to permit...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

Excellent, thanks for walking me through this. My only concern with soldering a resistor inline is whether it can take the tensile load of the weight of the wire, or if I have to re-inforce the connection somehow. I'll take a look. It shouldn't be THAT hard. :-/ As for the voltmeter issue...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

Yes, this would be an option.  I will investigate. However, where are the "included" resistors? For my particular setup, I have two separate switches for the mags, one for the left, one for the right.  Would I install a wire from each of the switches to the cooresponding EMS-37 pin, or would I...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

I'm not electronically savvy enough to know what you said in your first statement.  All I know is that the tach transducer worked with the Blue Mountain One system, as did all the other sensors.  However, with the Dynon SV upgrade, I'm reinventing the wheel.  I've ordered replacement sensors for...

Add Honeywell sensor to definiton file (0-100psi)

Re: Add Honeywell sensor to definiton file (0-100p I had attempted to use the Westach version of the same type pressure transducer and was informed that only the Dynon recommended pressure sensors (looking very much like an automotive oil pressure sending unit) would work. Could I have...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

The Westach Tachmeter is expecting 5-12V DC, from which I acquire from Pin 15. The (+) side of the sensor is connected to in 32 (for std voltage) and the (-) side of the sensor is connected to a ground Pin on the EMS-37 connector. Still, no joy! The 12V DC power, derived from a separate...

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

UPDATE: Okay, I did some more digging and found that Dynon suggests that ONLY the type indicated for oil/fuel pressure, are supported. Therefore, I've ordered new oil/fuel pressure transducers and oil temperature probe. Still, no info found on the Westach tachometer transducer. HELP!!! :'(

    Westach Tach/Oil/Fuel Tranducers

The Skyview installation manual appears to assume a 2-wire (+/-) setup for the digital tach transducer, but the Westach 303DH2T Hall Affect  transducer requires a 5-12V input, sensor (+) and ground (-).  I've used pin-1 of the EMS-37-pin connector since that is where 12V is coming into the...
