    txInterogate Emag ignitions

You can do this via a Gnd, TX,RX connection and a laptop currently...So with just 6 extra connections (hah!) you could use the EMS to provide all the data that is is in 2 Emag ignitions and even adjust the timing in flight (although liability would argue you would not want to allow this while...

    High oil temp/CHT's

Found nothing. Flew again and everything was fine...of course I wiggled all the ground conections and who knows if I seated something. Thinking I might cut the ground wires and maybe make a single dedicated ground to the engine block and battery to the EMS. If the engine had done something...

    One low EGT

Sounds to me like the readings are correct but you have a mixture imbalance...This is very typical on carburated Lycs. Try swapping the probe to a different channel (like swap #2 and #4 probes) . If the readings are similar its the mixture distribution, if the issue "Moves" to the #2 cyl then...

    High oil temp/CHT's

Thanks...Yes I was going to fly, see if it gets hot and changeover to ohmmeter at the snder to check to see if the reading is real (unlikely but possible)...If not then we at least know for sure its an instrumentation issue. Cheers Frank

    High oil temp/CHT's

Hey thanks, Will do the groundstrap check...Do you happen to have the calibration curve for the oil temp sensor?.....I was thinking I could directly connect an ohm meter to the sensor and if it acts up again see if the reading it is getting is real. Just scratching for ideas at this point...

    High oil temp/CHT's

Another symptom is that the fuel pressure has now jumped from 28psi to 35psi...Now I have 2 independant electric fuel pumps and two relief valves that set the pressure..If one valve was sticky then that would raise the pressure, but the high pressure is noted with either pump running.... The...

    High oil temp/CHT's

Hi, Went flying for an hour this morning and everything was fine...Came out of the FBO fired up the airplane to go back home. On climbout D10 showed alarmingly high #4 CHT and oil temp....The other CHT's were high too but the #4 is the hottest. Thinking we had a serious engine problem we...

HSI display frm Garmin 430 info

I hooked up the spare serial output from my GNS 430 (this was how the wire was labelled from the avionics shoppe) to the black and white wire heading towards the EMS 37 pin plug. Then made sure I saw an "Auto" in the top left of the MAG/VAR screen. All I get is a round DG display on the D100...

    Problems with DG overshooting

Oh yes of course that makes sense...In fact it says in the manual that the EDC has to be connected when doing a firmware upgrade... Excellent...Thanks Frank

    Problems with DG overshooting

yes and yes...sort of..:) Zipcode is 97330...I put in 67 as the inclination angle...Then calibrated the DG on the compass rose at the airport...all in that order. Then the screen went black and I returned it to your goodselves where you fixed it and uploaded firmware version 1.08. When I got...

    Problems with DG overshooting

Hmm...maybe not. If indeed that is the problem, my OAT is wired to the EMS, both on the bottom of the airplane but about 5 feet apart. Frank

    Problems with DG overshooting

From MY CFI, Who was clearly paying more attention than I was.. The heading seems to be the worst when flying 270 and making a right turn to 360. We rolled out on 360 and the heading continued to go to around 020-030. This is exactly how I would expect a real compass to work in this quadrant...

    Problems with DG overshooting

Took the EFIS for its first IFR checkout and my CFI noticed the DG is swinging beyond the assigned heading by 20 degrees or so before settling back....Almost like a regular compass would. I mean when moving to a new assigned heading by say 90 degress ...the DG would overshoot then come back...

    Problems with DG overshooting

Morning Took the EFIS for its first IFR checkout and my CFI noticed the DG is swinging beyond the assigned heading by 20 degrees or so before settling back....Almost like a regular compass would. Also noticed that when transmitting on Comm 1 the DG would pull away from the heading by 30 or 40...

    EMS not detected

Incidently, the new support program lists the lastest firmware release as 1.08 just like the EFIS. looks like I had 1.06 in the EFIS when I sent it to you so its looking promissing. Frank

    EMS not detected

I got my D100 back from repair (see "Black screen Part Duex") reinstalled and now it can't find the EMS. It has software version 1.08 and it was working perfectly before I removed it. The page rotation is set up as before. The EFIS can be displayed on the EMS OK but the EMS cannot be shown on...
