    Transponder interfering with AP

Just to update with the solution… As @jakej suggested: Relocated the transponder antenna to just forward of the fin, RG400 cable (again), problem sorted.

    Transponder interfering with AP

Thanks Jake: The aircraft is a Europa (which I appreciate is not so common outside of Britain), a low-wing Rotax powered 621kg SLA of fibreglass sandwich construction. The XPDR antenna is mounted on the underside between the seats, with an aluminium ground plane on the inside. The servos are...

    Internal disk out of space

Thanks! I have now had (what I presume is) the same email from support; I'll try it out on Thursday and report back.

    Transponder interfering with AP

To update this, I have replaced the servo, sent the transpponder (Trig TT21) back to the manufacturer for a check, installed RG400 cable and new connectors from the transponder to the antenna; no improvement in the issue. I have now ordered a new transponder antenna and longer length of RG400...

    Internal disk out of space

Did you get a solution for this? I have the same issue (albeit on the latest software issue, I'm still running 15.XX). I have emailed as suggested above, but no response as yet (which is not unreasonable in the slightest, I only emailed on Saturday, just if there's a simple fix, that'd be handy).

    Transponder interfering with AP

Lol, you didn’t insult my intelligence until you said “I don’t mean to” and asked 😂 No, the shielding is not grounded. I shall do that and replace the coax with RG400 and new connectors. Thanks both

    Transponder interfering with AP

I have been trying to track down an issue with my AP. For a bit of background, it has worked flawlessly for a year and 60 hours of use. Recently it started intermittently reporting “Roll Servo Offline” and more rarely the same for pitch. Trying to fix the issue, I rewired the servos from the...

    Various Gremlins

Hi all, a quick bit of advice if I may... I have a Classic 10" with autopilot fitted in my 912S Europa. It has performed flawlessly for around 1 year. Recently, I have been getting "roll servo offline" warnings. I remade all the obvious connections, but the fault recurrs every 5-30 minutes. The...

Have you considered a Garmin G5?

    Garmin GNC255 and Skyview Classic

Hi all; I understand that if you connect a GNC255 via RS232 to a Skyview, you can then set Nav and Com frequencies, set OBS and display VOR/LOC/GS on the Skyview HSI. What you cannot simultaneously do is send GPS data to the GNC255 to enable distance/speed/time (pseudo DME) to be displayed on...

    RF noise

They’re both grounded to the same bus bar; so within 2” of each other on the same piece of brass: would screwing them on with the same screw make a difference, or are you referring to linking the 2 grounds elsewhere? I presume this would create a loop, which I understand to be a bad thing.

    RF noise

I have; neither make any difference. I have now discovered that the hum gets louder as the screen gets brighter, and quieter as it goes dimmer.

    RF noise

Hi all; I’m hoping you can help. I have searched the forum and seen many posts about RF noise, but none quite match my issue: Whenever my Skyview is turned on, there is a constant hum heard through the headsets. It is not affected by adjusting the volume on the radio, and it is not breaking...

Trig TY91 not talking to SV Classic

Just for completeness, I thought I should add the issue and likely solution to this issue for the future: I spoke to Trig, who were very helpful as always. Support for this function was introduced in firmware version 1.5; my Trig is running version 1.3. The great folk at Trig are updating it...

Trig TY91 not talking to SV Classic

Thanks Raymo; they’re both connected to the same negative bus-bar already, so this shouldn’t be the issue?

Trig TY91 not talking to SV Classic

Hi all; I hate to join and immediately ask for help, but this is messing with my head! I’m in the process of swapping the vac/electric steam gauges in my Europa for: 10” Classic 2 axis AP EMS ADHRS I am retaining my old Trig TT21 and TY91 Xpdr/com. I have connected the TY91 to a serial RX/TX...
