    AOA - No audio

AOA had been working fine but one day I noticed there was no aural indication when landing. The display was fine, but there was no beeping. I was thinking that perhaps I was landing fast, but I tried a full stall landing and there was no aural AOA indication. I tested it in flight and...

    EMS SFG File Mismatch caution

Loaded V12, went flying and no problems Next day, I got a EMS SFG File Mismatch caution message when I powered up. Still there several flights later. I have a Dual 10" setup (original versions) with dual EFIS's. What does this message mean? Thanks.

    Standard Turn Rate indication isn't

The cyan triangles on the attitude indicator, as I understand, indicate a standard rate turn, which is a two-minute turn. I have twice tested this out and when I fly at this bank angle, I find a 360 degree turn takes 1:40, not 2:00. The way I performed the test was to enter the bank and get...

    Battery test

I have done some more testing, but the net result is that both my batteries (I have a dual SV) failed. First, some confusion could be avoided if the SV would tell you that the test wasn't running _because_ the battery was not fully charged, and indicate what the minimum voltage had to be in...

SV and SL-30/40 Users Please Read!

I like the new COM feature. I agree it may be easier to manually enter the frequencies -- provided you know what they are and have them written down. If you don't know, then it takes less time to look them up on the SV than it does to dig out a Sectional and look it up, especially if you are...

    Battery test

I started a battery test yesterday, getting the count down clock, but I stopped the test about 5 minutes later. Today, I started the test again but did not get the count down clock. After 8 to 10 minutes the SV shut down. I repeated the test with the same results, and I tried the test on my...

    ADAHRS Warning

In my last post where I said "Only the Pilot's EFIS was turned off .....", I meant the EFIS was turned ON. Sorry. And I flew again for 1.5 hours yesterday and had no cross check errors.

    ADAHRS Warning

The problem I previously reported seemed to clear up.  Just yesterday I checked the setup, and my primary ADAHRS unit was enabled and the secondary unit in standby.  Neither were offline or deativated. Today, however, I powered up EFIS #1 prior to engine start and it reported the error again: ...

    ADAHRS Warning

The problem does seem to be intermittent. Today I flew for well over an hour and no problem. I had no warning message indicating the secondary ADAHRS was disabled, which I believe shows that after you recycle power, the secondary unit will re-enable itself. After I landed I checked the setup...

    ADAHRS Warning

I recently loaded Version 4 software and soon after, on the ground, got the ADAHRS crosscheck warning for a rate indicator error, or something like that (it was not a turn coordinator error). I ignored it, flew a few times and never had an issue, but when flying a few days ago it popped up...

    AOA calibration

I am a relatively low time pilot and, even in transition training, we did not do full power stalls. So, at this early point in my test flight period, I don't want to do any full power stalls. By the previous post, does this mean two power off stalls, one with no flaps and one with full...

Blew a 3A Fuse duing engine testing

Boy, do I feel stupid. Old age setting in. Other than embarassing myself, I am glad the solution is so simple, and glad that it was discovered before the plane took to the air! D'oh for sure!

Blew a 3A Fuse duing engine testing

I have been running a dual SV1000 for a while on the ground in prep for a first flight. We were adjusting the idle and mixture settings, and during an enginer start, the pilot-side SV died. At first I thought the backbattery had died, but later confirmed it wasn't - if blue a fuse. That EFIS is...

    Slip/ skid (ball) centered adjustment

This is strange that there is no offset cal. On mine, the ball is touching the left edge of the. I have a dual ADHRS system. If I shim up one unit, what about the other unit? Thanks.

RF Noise when running of external battery

My radio shop obtained the filters and installed them and they got rid of the noise on the Garmin SL-30. For the Icom A-210, I can turn the squelch down from 8 to 4 now (on a scale of -10 to +10). Still maybe a tad high, but I think it will be acceptable. Thanks for the support. Jeff

Oil Pressure does not go to 0

Problem solved! I measured the resistance from the terminal to the case (I have the older sender), and noted the Skyview indicated 12 psi. This was after the engine had not been run in 2 weeks. I then decided to remove the sender. Very little oil came out, but there was some. I cleaned it...

Oil Pressure does not go to 0

The oil pressure on my Skyview reads 9 to 11 psi long after my engine (YIO-320 - started and run several times but not flown) has shut down -- even a week later it will read this amount of pressure. During taxing testing at around 1,600 RPM it peaks near 90 psi, which seems high, so I am...

RF Noise when running of external battery

I am completing my RV and have noticed the radios break sqelch all the time. A radio shop did my wiring and panel installation, and I had complained to them about the noise but they haven't done a thing. So, last night I did some troubleshooting, thinking the problem was due to some LED strip...
