question for Dynon about autopilots moving forward

My point was Duncan announced having the stc 3 years ago. Now they claim they should be able to start installing systems in q4 2026. Dynon tried to let outside firms get the autopilot certified (Seneca). They ended up having to bring that in house. I have heard a gentleman from the stc group...

question for Dynon about autopilots moving forward

Go try and find the stc number. Theres something fishy about it. Duncan doesnt list it. Bendix doesnt list it. The FAA system doesnt show it (but thats not saying much). Apparently the drawings Duncan had of Mooney airframes and what was in the wild didnt match up. So things had to be revised...

question for Dynon about autopilots moving forward

I was of no illusions of grandeur when I installed a dual hdx system in my pa32. When I spoke to Dynon they flat out said do not install the system assuming the autopilot will be coming shortly. Luckily I could install an aerocruze. Its not perfect. but its functional. Anyone that installed...

question for Dynon about autopilots moving forward

When the Baron ap was announced. They also announced "ELECTRIC TRIM CONTROL WITH AUTOPILOT AUTO-TRIM NOW APPROVED FOR ALL AUTOPILOT-EQUIPPED AIRCRAFT" Now, they did leave out the 172 in listing models. But the 172 would be part of "all autopilot equipped aircraft".... Also, if you go to the 172...

question for Dynon about autopilots moving forward

Did you not have electric trim previously? I thought if your plane had electric trim of any flavor, the Dynon AP could drive it?

question for Dynon about autopilots moving forward

Personally I think they need to get out of the Seattle ACO if they want progress. But even big G was complaining about faa timelines

Dynon Transponders and ADS-B in Canada

The Nav Canada website has a link to CARs 551.103 on this page under equipage requirements: NAV CANADA ADS-B Performance Requirements If you read through that section, you'll see a bunch of changes / notes that were added in July, including the below snip. Based on that, my understanding is...

Dynon Transponders and ADS-B in Canada

Canada has backed away from the diversity requirement. I believe if you go into airspace and get the the equivalent of a papr done, as long as it performs well enough you no longer need additional antenna's or diversity.

    New Airmate aviation data

It sounds like he downloaded the charts in the airmate data manager to his pc. Once that is downloaded to PC you put your flash drive in and hit program usb stick on the data manager to get that info to to the usb. Its at that stage data starts downloading and then stops. I dont believe he ever...

Except his issue has nothing to do with Dynon. Rather its an airmate issue. Airmate has been helpful when I've emailed them for similar issues

    Trio

With the announcement of the Trio autopilot being able to be used through the HDX. It got me wondering if the models on the Trio AML will get put on the Dynon back burner when it comes to choosing the next model for Dynon's own autopilot. Notably the PA28/32. So what does the Dynon autopilot do...

    Mooney Autopilot Approved

A long time coming! Congrats to Mooney owners and Dynon. I'm sure they would have like more models approved. But it's a start. Pa28/32 next....pretty please. Have both in the hangar....

Is there a maximum number of wifi connected devices?

Wifi. Adsb is delivered via wifi. I've had two iPads work. But have had both drop out until one was shut down. So that's what prompted my email to them. Here's the full response. "Unfortunately at this time our WI-FI system only supports connection to 1 device at a time. That would be the...

Is there a maximum number of wifi connected devices?

It was clear. Still 1. I tried connecting 2 iPads at once and while it worked for a while, it became unreliable until I shut one down. I emailed Dynon and here's what they said. "Unfortunately at this time our WI-FI system only supports connection to 1 device at a time."
