One of the considerations may very well be making it fit, short of getting a second STC to modify the stationary panel in the Cessna's. It took considerable finesse to get the 1100 to fit in the C182 panel space efficiently. One company already has one to do that, but after looking at what they did and the amount of work to replace the factory's panel. The details are available, but quoting the company,What is involved in the evaluation? Performance or reliability of the screen? The certified market interest in a larger screen? FAA approval? How much time will the evaluation take? If a decision is made by Dynon to market the larger screen for certified aircraft are there delays expected, will the option become available with a predictable timeline? It seems a no-brainer that the certified market will want the option, especially in single display panels. Im ready to order mine!
Due to the extensive nature of the Legacy XL Stationary Panel installation, there are many parts on your aircraft that must be removed to make installation possible. During reinstallation, we recommended the following be purchased new and installed, as there will never be a better time to replace some of your aging components!
I assume you refer to the STC, and not FAR 25.1321, which still applies....Remember: these aren’t certified for a particular panel layout....
No, FAR part 25 applies to transport category aircraft. I don’t think the STC covers that…maybe you are trying to get a field approval in an L1011?I assume you refer to the STC, and not FAR 25.1321, which still applies.
