I have same issues happening in Canada after recently updating my skyview touch. Now ads-b says partial. Was flying yesterday and a guy with ads-b said I was flickering on his display coming on and off. Flight aware track is also showing me all over the place where used to have nice track. As I do survey mapping work grid flying it looks like a maze vs nice grid track. We don’t have ground ads-b here in Canada so normally it says no radar but now just says partial. And going into the ads-b menu says no service. There was a firmware update sitting there for the ads-b and transponder. I have updated it now so will see if it helps. Definitely something got messed up with ads-b after the newest firmware update for the skyview.

Just a reminder, the new software removed the "NO RADAR" message and instead displays "PARTIAL". In essences, nothing has changed except the displayed message.

I have been working with the tech support team at Dynon to try and resolve MY issue. If I understand correctly, they are aware of the PARTIAL ADSB message, and are working to correct that in the next update.

I seem to have a separate and unrelated problem with my older 470 not displaying NEXRAD Wx.
The folks at Dynon continue to gather information from me and we’ll hopefully be able to resolve it soon.

After a “quick update” with the latest version, my nexrad Wx seems to be back.
Still have the Partial ADS-B but hopefully 16.8 will resolve that.
Tech Support was great at Dynon!

Thanks for coming back and letting us know the results. That's always helpful to future visitors with similar issues.

Additional follow-up from me. I did send my unit in as I had exhausted everything I could do as far as testing. I received a warranty unit with NO notes on exactly what was wrong with previous Unit. I installed and flew and issues are resolved as far as i could tell. I was receiving 8 towers in areas where i was receiving none prior to new unit. I spoke with a few other guys at my airport that have both the classic skyview with 470 unit and the HDX unit with 472. They have both told me that they are receiving ABSB OK, but do see the bounce between OK and Partial. My hanger partner said he had a good ADSB the other day, but only after flying south of ATL Class B. Prior to that he had PARTIAL. Once he flew North back under the veil he maintained ADSB OK. He thought that was an improvement from what he had seen previously. Hope this helps somebody.

Bit of an old thread and sorry to dig this up, but I am in Australia and purchased an RV7 with 2 x Dynon Skyview HDX panels. I have always had ADS-B Partial in the corner of my screen, but everything appears to be working.

I can see traffic on my screen, and ATC can see me fine (I have asked them to check)

I am not sure if it is because I am in Australia. I don't think we get weather here so maybe that is it?

I have crawled the web, but can't seem to find any answers, so any info someone can provide, or things to check etc, would be great

Cheers

That means there is no ground station in your area sending TIS broadcasts, or the ground stations are not sending radar targets. I would assume that's because the ADS-B system is not yet fully fielded in Australia. There were large areas a few years ago that did not have coverage, or had limited coverage, and I imagine that's still the case to some degree. But someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct again Rhino - its a big (almost size of USA) country that has ~ 10% of your population, so a ‘full’ ADSB result is not going to happen any time soon - at least we have some coverage at lower levels near the higher traffic areas. “Looking out” is still a good option IMO.

I was actually told by a local Dynon expert that it is because in Australia we don't get weather - AT ALL! So it will never say ADS-B OK. But I can't tell if my ADS-B in is working or not. Especially of there is no traffic to see on screen. :(
