Hello,

New here, just purchased a flying RV7 from the USA and imported it to the UK.

I've been trying to update the mapping for the UK and I'm having an issue with one of the screens (I have two x 10" SkyViews, one touch, one non-touch). The touch screen updated with no problems but on the non-touch screen it's not happy with the high res terrain file. Tells me the file has errors. I've tried deleting the high res terrain file currently on the unit and downloading a fresh copy of the high res file but it still says 'this file has errors'.

Any help with this greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Congratulations on your new -7! You are going to LOVE it.

I've seen similar issues posted here where the USB drive was the problem. Have you tried a different one?

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the reply. I already love it! Had a 6 for 5 years - really looking forward to flying this.

Thank you for the advice regarding the USB stick - I'll try doing it with another one tomorrow.

Regards,

Monica

I should have mentioned that you should only need to load the maps on one screen if you have the screens connected via the optional network cable.

Well that's interesting. They are connected and the mapping loaded fine onto the first screen but the second was saying high res terrain not available so I thought it had to be done independently.

Terrain isn't a normal database. It won't go between two screens. It's too big.

Our one suggestion is to plug the USB stick into the back of the screen directly, instead of using any extension cable, or the cable built into the D37 connector.
