Hello Gents

I just finish the installation of my Pitch and Aileron trim on my RV-4 with the Auto-Pilot control panel.

Initially  when I tried the trim if I trimmed Right , the indicator ( Ray Allen ) will move left and vice  versa on the left side. So I change the Poloarity ( Pin 14-15 ) and it worked as advertised. Trimming right, indicator moved right.

Today when I tried to set it up in the aircraft, when on autopilot if the Trim moved right , the indicator will move left and when flying manually, if I trimmed right, the indicator will move right...??

I don't know if I need to change the wires around again or is there a way to reverse it in the set up menu..I seem to recall something about ',reverse'' in the menu..

Any idea what I should do??..Support... :-?

thanks

Hi David

That's what I did with the result stated above.... :-?

I'll go thru the procedure once more when I go back to the hangar next week and see what I come up with.

Thanks

Hi Ray

When I installed the Trim system initially with the indicator I got the reverse indication..By that I mean that when trimming right, the indicator will move left and vice & versa..
I changed the polarity ( swithing the wires in the autopilot panel and everything worked fine when flying and trimming manually but in reverse when the a/c is on autopilot...

Trim right, indicator goes to the left..weird stuff...

I will do the set up procedure again first chance I get and see if it change anything..

Eventually Support might comments... ;)

The trim input should be the same whether manual or by the AP. Be sure you do not also have trim relays in the system as the AP button panel manages the relay functionality for you.
