Autotrim servo controller Beta available

I have completed the design of an auto-trim capable 2-axis servo controller, based on the M-PWR-2A from MakerPlane http://store.makerplane.org/m-pwr-2-dual-channel-variable-speed-trim-control/, my business partner.

The controller is now in flight testing, and it is available to other Beta testers who already have an M-PWR-2A installed.  Please contact me via PM if you are interested.  It is not yet available from the MakerPlane store, so I will directly provide you with an upgrade for field modification.

This device works directly with the SkyView system providing 2-axis channel trim speed scheduling, stuck switch fault detection and correction and auto-trim capability.  It does not replace the Dynon advanced autopilot controller which provides 2-axis trim control and (eventually) auto-trim.

It is intended for use in systems that have no panel space for the Dynon controller, do not required the advanced autopilot knob features, or want to spend less money!

I have an update on the SkyView compatible auto trim controller. Flight testing is complete and we will be rolling out production devices very soon.

One thing I did was add a tuning interface. This allows external tweaking of performance using a PC serial port, or if my friends at Dynon are willing to support it, by sending configuration commands directly from the SkyView.

I don't anticipate the need for user tuning, but the flexibility is there.

Most of the flight testing has been performed on a Harmon Rocket, which has a very wide speed range and requires a lot of trim intervention when the autopilot is on. The auto-trim controller eliminates any manual trim. If the aircraft is near trim when the autopilot is engaged, it will stay in trim.

The controller has been production released since Oshkosh. I have posted the installation guide for the autotrim controller here.  It's hard to find on the MakerPlane site.
