Can Skyview send ADS-B to my GTN650?

Planning out the equipment needed for an install and trying to figure out how to best integrate an iPad into the workflow. I want to be able to edit a flight plan in one place and have it fill everywhere else. The Dynon wifi module seems great and the price is right, but I don't believe that it will push flight plans to my GTN650. (Or am I wrong?)

Is there a way to have the Skyview populate the flight plan page from the plan in the GTN650? If so, then I can just edit on the 650 and be set.

As a sidebar, is Skyview able to send traffic/weather TO the GTN650?

Really just looking for ways to edit a flight plan in one place and have an iPad (running FlyQ or ForeFlight), a GTN650, and Skyview all on the same page? Thanks for any thoughts that you may have,
Dan

"With recent software updates, Garmin disabled the ability for GNS and GTN series avionics to accept changes from non-Garmin equipment." Is that applicable?

That update limiting data transfer in Garmin certified navigators does apply. Garmin does not want uncertified devices sending information in to their certified navigators. If your 650 is run through the ARINC adapter into the Skyview, any changes made on the 650 will flow to the Skyview which will fly the changed plan if the HSI source is set to the 650. You will notice on the Flight Plans page you will have a tab for the Skyview and one for the 650. These flight plans are completely independent. The aircraft will navigate either depending on the HSI Source selected on the PFD. I would like to have the ability to copy the route from the external navigator (650 in your case) to the Dynon tab. I have a thread here describing this new feature request, copy flight plan.

To me it boils down to the display size. Trying to see traffic/weather on the "tiny" GTN650 screen instead of the significantly larger Dynon display is not the best use of your equipment capabilities. YMMV

There is no "certified" ADS-B in device, that I am aware. It boils down to manufactures allowing others to play in their pool. I agree with Galin, no need for it on the 650 when you have a 10" screen. I also use Foreflight, which shows Dynon traffic on my iPhone, which also provides traffic alerts over Bluetooth with distance and location via clock numbers.

Thanks all! Appreciate the info on the flight plan tabs, Skysailor! I should have known that.

I agree that traffic isn't really needed to be displayed on the GTN650 itself. I was just trying to figure out the path to get traffic/weather to an iPad. If I use a FlightStream module, the data comes from the GTN650. The 650 would have to receive the ADS-B info in order to transmit to my iPad.

Since the Skyview is receiving the flight plan from the 650 on the alternate tab, I would think that I am good to use the Dynon wifi for both ADS-B AND flight plan info to my tablet. Thanks All!!!

FWIW: I have ADS-B traffic/WX on the DYNON display. But since I have the DYNON WIFI module I also display ADS-B traffic/WX on my SAMSUNG tablet running FltPlanGo at the same time. It works great.

And be forewarned...this can be *very* confusing in flight...which is why I use *only one* all the time (in my case, a 430W), and both the map and the PFD/HSI are set to use this as the displayed flight plan. It's possible to display one on the map and the other on the HSI...I recommend NOT doing that. Ask me how I know.
