My backup battery failed so I replaced it. I can't seem to get the display to cancel the Caution message. I've flown 6 hours since replacement. I read and believe I followed the manual.

What do you mean by can't get it to take? What does your Battery Status icon show? Have you charged it at the required voltage, for the required time, since install?

Yes, please define "can't get it to take".

If the backup battery is not fully charged it will not allow you to start the test. The battery charges through SkyView, and needs full system voltage applied to the Skyview (greater than 12.25 volts) before the backup battery will begin to charge. You can either go fly it for an hour or so, or put a battery charger on the airplane and turn the panel on for a few hours, either should do the trick.

The solution was to turn Reversion Mode to No. After that, the backup battery test proceeded perfectly all the way through.
Before I installed 16.7.0, there was no problem with backup battery tests. After 16.7.0, the test would start and appear to run for a few minutes, then I'd get a blank screen with tiny "x" in it, followed by a system reboot.
Dynon suggested:
SETUP MENU > SYSTEM SETUP > SCREEN LAYOUT SETUP > REVERSION MODE ENABLED, change this to NO if it is on YES.
This fix worked. Afterward, I turned the Reversion Mode back to Yes.
Dynon said I was not the only instance, but I don't know how widespread it is.

I'm having issues as well. When I power down the system (Master Off) with the Skyview backup battery taking the load it then acts as it should, asking if I won't it to remain ON, Power Down or Test Battery. Issue being that the 'Test Battery' selection is grey rather than solid black.

How do I get the system to allow the test? Do the batteries need to carry more charge?

This is happening to mine too--and I'm sure they were well charged before I tried it. I pressed the Test Battery button anyway, and the displays didn't say test in progress, but didn't shut off either. I checked back periodically and they were still up after an hour. When I came back a while after that (at least 75 minutes after turning the master off) they were both off. But when I flipped the master back on and booted the displays they still say I need to test the battery.
I'll try the "reversion mode" trick above next time I come back from a flight, probably this weekend. I've not installed any SW updates (only databases) since it worked a year before.

Had to look that up since I've never set it: User manual says if you have two displays it sets a single-display format that will be used on the remaining display if the other one fails. Now that I've read it, possibly a good thing on my copilot-side display, which is often full-screen map. So if the left side failed I wouldn't have flight instruments until I manually switched the right side to show PFD.
