Im plannnig an HDX system for my 310 R. It looks like Ill have to keep my AI and HSi to keep my autopilot functioning until the Dynon Auto pilot gets approval. Anyone else heading this direction?

Not my aircraft or image, but this is a Piper PA32 with the OEM KFC 150. This pilot opted to mount the AI/HSI next to the PFD.

It's definitely a viable option until the Autopilot STC comes around! For the time being you'd have an awesome PFD/MFD and a great engine monitor!

Nice! Man I'm jealous 😍

Keep us updated! I'm sure many other 310/320 owners will be asking questions soon!

OK! Dimensions of panels have been dialed in. Im having to shrink the Co pilot panel but thats fine, right seaters dont do anything anyway! Ive laser cut some templates and CNC will be up and running here in a few days. I powered up the HDX system and Ive got a software mismatch so ive got to figure that out. Pics to follow

Software mismatch often means that not all the components of the system have the same software version, could be the two displays, but could also be one of the units knob panel etc . that was delivered with a older/newer version. Just start up one display to see if the issue goes away. Software version of the units are normally updated after network is configured. If displays are different the just power up one and load the latest software and then do the same with the other

Update:
Panel is in! first power up is complete. Now working on Engine EMS integration Things of note so far:

-Mounted Magnetometer in the nose, about 18" away from the Remote Gyro for the Analog HSI (part of the 400B autopilot until something better shows up) we will see how that works.
- The engine harnesses are a little short but after a bunch of bad ideas I mounted the EMS on the outboard side of the second Nose rib behind the air intake in the wing (yeah i know the manual says to put it behind the firewall but the harness is too short, and the Ems won't work great inside of a 20gal fuel tank) . you have to use one of the old oil press/manifold press/ fuel flow AN pass-through hole for the EGT CHT harness to make sure it is long enough. It's a tight fit but should work great. Then a 10' Skyview network cable to the Display.
- It doesn't appear that the Tach generator (EM8000-4 three wire)will be compatible so I'll have to use P-leads for tach but I'll keep researching.
- I plan on mounting a plate on the heavy portion of the engine cradle structure to mount manifold press, fuel flow and press and oil press senders.
- Ammeter shunts on my R model are 50Mv to 125Amp and i was tempted to just leave them and see if I could use a custom file or something but decided to just put in the new ones (they're in the wing root) and stick with the plan.
- I have boots and 1 remaining vacuum gauge so i have two more Manifold pressure sensors behind the panel plumbed into the vacuum system.
- One of my Voltmeter sense wires will go to the battery master solenoid, and one will go to the avionics bus (no reason just sounds good)
-after I installed the panel i decided to ditch my old audio panel and intercom and go with a Garmin 340 so now I'll probably have to cut new panels, but Ill do that when an autopilot solution in available.
