Chart resolution seams

I'll have to get the USB stick out of the plane on my way home to get the screenshot, but...

Flying in to Phoenix this past weekend, I pulled up the SA VFR charts to get the frequencies for Luke Approach, and noticed they were goobered up at the seam where, presumably, they switched from a SEC to a TAC resolution or something...it was like a TAC had been overlaid on the sectional (all at the correct scale, of course, so that wasn't an issue), but things like text boxes were obscured, including (ahem) the one with the frequency I needed, AND some of the legend info was visible (the stuff on the side panels of charts).

Anybody else seen this?

Not an answer to your question but if you have a radio that is tied into the SV GPS, you should be able to pull up the frequencies there.

This works with the Dynon radio in my RV-7A. You essentially scroll through the list of nearest airports until the one of interest is listed. Select it and push the button for the frequency you want.

Oh, yeah...I didn't have any trouble getting the frequencies I need (from the SV or my 430), but it was the weird overlap of charts.

I thought charts were in digital format now? This looked like one of them had been scanned and then overlaid...

The TACs have more detail and info than the normal sectional, so I think what you're seeing is the place where those are "stitched in" by Seattle Avionics in the more zoomed in levels where there's a TAC available.
