I had an EGT probe failed, and replaced it with a GRT avionics probe, because I figured an EGT probe is an EGT probe, maybe not? I did notice that the length of the probe that inserts into the exhaust is longer on the GRT one vs the Dynon that came out. I'm wonder if this length is something you can adjust before it's clamped down or is it fixed?

At first I thought it might be a configuration issue, but the D120 does not have a sensor selector for EGT probes, stating : There is no need to set a sensor type; any K-type thermocouple will work.

Sorry, no additional insights.

One thought. Check that the small collar on the Probe "Stem" is firmly pulled up against the exhaust pipe.
It is possible to have the probe slightly skewed with the clamp still apparently tight.

try swapping it with another probe from another cylinder and see what readings you get on both cylinders involved.
