D180 EGT reading -99F

Just changed EGT probe on Rotax 914. EGT readout shows ambient temp before engine start and then reads -99 shortly after engine start. Did I just get the leads reversed into the D180 or do I have other problems?

That’s usually caused by a disconnect in the probe wires ( not a probe failure in your case) or a bad terminal connection.
