Hi,

I have been flying a MCR ULC aircraft for a few years and have experienced high and instable temperatures readings both for CHT and Oil. I then had an hood flap installed and that fixed the CHT temperature reading. However the reading for oil remains very high (sometimes +/- 130C). Only when I reach my cruise altitude and speed (typically FL 75/85 and VP 120kt) does this temperature drops to 100/105C, which for a Rotax 912S is acceptable.

How can a CHT T° be 80/90C and stable and oil 130C with fluctutions

? I am told that this is a known problem with DYNON D180... Could it be a problem with the probe ? the cabling ?

Your feedback would be highly appreciated.

Step one would be to confirm the sensor is reading correctly by inserting it into boiling water and confirming it reads 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius) at sea level.

Raymo Hi,

It will be difficult to test the sensor at sea level... My aircraft is currently under maintenance on a site at 2.683 Feet.
Would there be a correction to me made to the reading ?
