I'd like to see the dual band capability as well. Same point as first post by Mike S. When you are at pattern altitude you lose the rebroadcasting capability unless you are fortunate to be close enough to a FAA ADSB station. As stats indicate many accidents happen within 5 miles or less of the airport. At pattern altitude there are gaps within the system to airports I fly periodically. This is where direct 1090 transmissions would bridge the current gap. My home base airport is within the Class B veil of Phila International and I have ADSB in coverage starting around 700 ft MSL. Having full coverage when in the pattern is an added comfort. So as we move toward 2020 this capability should be the new standard. No substitute for eyes outside the cockpit but landing in a bee hive full of airplanes in the pattern going to a fly-in breakfast give you one more tool in addition to radio communications and your eyeballs.

Question for Dynon, if you would entertain this feature could the SV-ADSB-470 be replaced with a newer model that would use the same box footprint and UAT antenna for dual receive capability? Similar to what you did with the enhanced GPS. Plug and Play functionality with a firmware update?

Unfortunately, the hardware of the SV-ADSB-470 is 978 MHz only, so there's no possibility that a firmware update could add this capability.

Even better would be just a firmware update to convert SV-ADS-B-470 to dual band!

Note that there are different requests in this thread:
* Ability to directly receive individual aircraft's transmissions on 1090 MHz, Mode C (which does not include position data) and display as traffic,
* Ability to directly receive individual aircraft's transmissions on 1090 MHz, Mode S (which does include position data) and display as traffic,
* Ability to receive non-US ADS-B traffic being transmitted on 1090 MHz rather than 978 MHz (the US ADS-B standard) and display as traffic.

The interest expressed in this thread, and earlier feedback from customers (US, and non-US) in a "ADS-B receiver" that can can receive on both 978 MHz and 1090 MHz has been noted and passed along to Dynon Avionics management.

"Dynon Support" generally cannot comment on potential future products.

As of this moment, Dynon Avionics offers the SV-ADSB-470 for US ADS-B In.

Thank you Dynon Support for listening and for passing along customer feedback to management.

Add my vote to this idea. An "SV-ADSB-DUALB"
