I've been flying with my Dynon Skyview Autopilot for about a year now.  Until my last two flights, the Autopilot worked flawlessly.

Last two flights though, when engaged, the airplane slowly rolls left up to around 70 degrees and continues the turn through the commanded heading/course.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

In the meantime, any issues flying the plane, with AP circuit breaker off? No binding noted.

Hi,
Got the shear screws. Is there any way, other than pulling the servo off to confirm the issue is in fact the schear screw? Doing so in my aircraft is pretty convoluted. Though I'm pretty sure that's the problem, but it would be a shame to pull go through that process and find out that something else is wrong.

Also, for Dynon: I uploaded a data file. My aircraft is N235HK.

Thank you.

:)

If the shear screw is broken, the arm will move independently from the shaft that it sits on top of. You can usually test whether this is the case by moving the control surface while you have access to the servo.

Engage the roll servo, hold the control stick & have someone try to move an aileron & , if it moves, that will confirm if the shear screw is broken. Be aware that there still could be some 'drag' or resistance caused by an edge of the broken screw.
