Dynon SV-Intercom-2S Backlight INOP

I am building a new install including an SV-Intercom-2S. All functions of the panel work fine, but there is no backlight.
I have connected the EFIS SV-Harness-D37 pin 26 (Dim Output) to the SV-Intercom-2S pin 5 (LED Dimmer Input) but no joy.
It's not perfectly clear if this Dim Output wire is required for the Intercom, but the installation manual references it as if it were required.
Any ideas or input from the Dynon tech department would be most appreciated!

There is not requirement at all for the dimmer input. The manual states connection to one screen only.

I have never used this function so I can't say how obvious the backlight function is.

Is there even a backlight on the Intercom at all? I don't recall seeing one. I thought the dimmer function was only for the TX led?

There is a Dim Out wire coming from the HDX. The Intercom manual does say:

"Using Dim Input (Pin 5) Without SkyView.
If you are using the SV-INTERCOM-2S without a SkyView system, and want to vary
the brightness of the SV-INTERCOM-2S’ backlighting"

And the wiring table says to connect Pin 5 of the Intercom to
SV-D700 / SVD1000(s) D37 Pin 26, no mention of an HDX

That may imply the the other comment implies that the dimmer only works with an SV-D700/1000

The manual doesn't shine here...

No need for the dimmer wire connection. It is only needed if you do not have a Skyview screen, which will control the intercom backlighting automatically, just as it does the other optional panel boxes.

I agree that no wire is required... Now, is there a backlight in the Intercom? Mine is not backlighted.

I confirmed during an evening flight this week- there is no backlight in the intercom. If you connect the LED dimmer pin to the corresponding pin on the display harness, the RX/TX LED on the intercom indeed does dim. But no backlight...

thanks everyone for their replies... Confirmed and solved, no backlight, dimming only on the RX/TX led indicator, no need for the dim wire to be connected to the Int display.
