Editing the Sensor Config File in SkyView HDX System

I have a different ammeter shunt than the one supplied by Dynon, so I need to edit my Sensor Config File to change the c_X1 constant. I have the downloaded "duc" software file on my desktop computer. Does the software update need to be installed on the HDX system and then the Sensor Config File "exported" to the USB drive before I can edit it? And then, can I import into the HDX that edited Sensor Config File from the USB drive?

Second question... If I change my Sensor Config File and at a later date, install a software update, will my Sensor Config File get overwritten by the update? I think I read somewhere in the documentation that it does not get written over? But I also read that it is "updated" with new sensor definitions? Does that mean that the update process reads the Sensor Config File and remembers my definitions and then "merges" the updates with my existing custom sensor definitions?

Thanks!

I have a SV-T Classic, not HDX, but it should be the same process.

To you first paragraph, just do the monthly update, then as you guessed, download the sensor files from the SV, edit, then load the file back on the SV.

For the second paragraph, they don't update the sensor config files often, and the Readme stuff will say when they do, but no, it doesn't merge anything, so you'll have to repeat the process of editing and re-loading the file.
