EFIS COM Information

I'm presently installing my 2 x HXD 1100 displays, T8 Radio, Intercom-2S, Radio Panel and GPS.  I can't seem to be able to select COM Radio from the MENU Button 6.  When I select MENU, I can see Transponder, Timer, PFD Tools, Engine Tools, Map Layer, User Waypoints, Map Setup and Maintenance Log, but no COM Radio.  What might be the problem here?  Also, nothing appears in the COM enunciation area on the Top Bar.  Any help much appreciated.

Could it be because I haven't attached the aerial yet?

Not having an antenna attached wouldn't have any effect. Make sure that the COM radio is actually showing up in the SkyView Network setup, and also make sure that you've selected it under SYSTEM SETUP > PRIMARY COM, and that you have it turned on on the top bar in the setting right beneath that.

Be sure not to hit your PTT button (transmit) with no antenna. Most radios cannot handle this.
