My experimental SkyView HDX already displays flap position. Can it generate an IAS-dependent aural or visual warning using three separate limits: above 62 KIAS at 30° or more, above 80 KIAS at 15°, and above 100 KIAS at 0°, with reflex permitted above 100 KIAS? Can this be configured natively, including defined behavior between flap positions, or does it require an external device?
Plane is Flgiht Design CTSW. Position indicator takes readings from the potentiometer on the linear actuator. Flap actuator is set manually by moving a switch, so it is infinitely variable and does not have stops, although the POH gives limits per several given flap positions. I modified the flap actuator so this is not like a standard FD.

It does so for my RV-12iS. The configuration file for the HDX in the 12iS is developed by Van’s, so it wasn’t something I did myself, but the system is obviously capable of doing so. The 12iS has electrically operated flaps with analog position indication, so that’s apparently what’s being compared with IAS, somehow.

This is being implemented in an upcoming update where the user will be able to set airspeed limits for specific flap ranges as allowed by the user's aircraft POH/manufacturer's guidelines. This will result in configurable flaps overspeed alerts at specific airspeeds when referenced to specific flap positions. If users don't want to utilize this, or their aircraft doesn't allow for this function, the existing flap alerts will still be possible.
