Kris,

Interest for the horizontal version was expressed on the forum as well as from multiple customers at airshows. As you have seen, when LOTS of customers ask for something (but not even close to a majority), Dynon is happy to oblige.

Your request has been noted, but until we get a lot more interest, we can't afford to seriously investigate remote knobs and switches.

See, already more interest (thanks Kevin).

Well next week is the ideal venue to ask the puplic, but please be proactive vs reactive. Unless they know it's a possibilty, people aren't likely to ask (horizontal vs vertical was an obvious thing to ask for).

I'd also focus on asking existing customers as well as OEM LSA manufactures. They aren't as vocal a group as the requent vistors to this forum (mostly experimental builders) but thier money is as good as anyones.

That's a good point, and we do spend a lot of time consulting with the LSA OEMs. As you've suggested previously, they do represent a decent chunk of our business (even today, and increasingly so as time goes on). Interestingly, from what we've heard from our LSA OEMS, they're generally looking for products that are easily installable, have good "presence" on the panel, and are as standardized as they can be. Put another way, remote knobs and buttons can be harder for them to sell and support. In any case, we'll never say never to any idea, but the number of HS34 models is overwhelmingly likely to remain the two versions we've announced.

This discussion, by the way, is not something that is foreign or new to us. Even with our EFIS products, it's reasonable to consider remote ADAHRS as a product configuration for lots of reasons. And, because our products are self-contained and "all in one", there are some aircraft and configurations that just don't have the panel depth clearance to work with our current offerings. It comes down to analyzing the amount of interest in the market (really, you want perfect future sales figures, but this is impossible), versus the cost it takes to produce different configurations. Get this mix wrong, and a company our size just won't see the volume we need to continue to be able to offer products at the prices we do. We are EXTREMELY price-point sensitive. Just offering different configurations, by the way, can add enough confusion to the marketplace to make one reconsider doing so.
