KLN 90B WITH SKYVIEW

I just finished installing a Bendix/King KLN-90B in my RV-4 which is connected to my Skyview.

I thought I will post the ARINC 429 set up here for anyone interested in going this route ( Cheaper than a 430 )

You do not need to hook up the KLN-90B to the Skyview via serial port.

The set up requires an Arinc 429 module and is very strait forward to install.

Once install, go to the Set Up menu in the Skyview to set up the ARINC 429 module.

Here's the set up

INPUT SPEED : LOW ( HIGH doesn't work )

INPUT 1 : GPS X this will be what the Dynon will show the imput is from ( I used GPS 2 )

INPUT 2 : NONE

OUTPUT SPEED : HIGH

NAV SOURCE : GPS 2

The Skyview will display the purple line to your waypoint and the distance in the Nav Source box same as any other GPS.

Will update the Database of the KLN-90B this week and check to see if SKYVIEW displays the route ( Flt Plan )...will report if it does.

SkyView doesn't currently import / crossfill flight plans from other devices. So if you're getting HSI guidance, you're working!

        My pleasure on the report.

I will be updating the database of my KLN-90B soon and will report  back.

Are there any plans about making the Skyview able to import/crossfill flight plans from other devices??

In the meantime I can always load every waypoints of the approach in the Skyview and crosscheck with the KLN-90B.It is a bit of work but doable..

It's on the features roadmap, but couldn't say for sure whether the KLN-90B will work (we'd likely target the 430/GTN for compatibility).

in Brazil, we have a few users skyview.
we have one of the largest fleets of single-engine aircraft in the world, but the cost of up-grades of avionics is very high.
some make use of options as the skyview, which is financially very attractive.

Yes. You can manufacture it yourself or purchase one.
Read the install manual "free on line" and it will list the requirements once installed to be IFR legal
