I just uploaded the latest software and i lost all my setups for the engine. Had to redue all my limits and layouts. Is there a way to save your current setup in case this happens again.

Thanks George

The SYSTEM SOFTWARE menu has an EXPORT SETTINGS option.

Sure back-ups are always a good idea. Just trying to avoid the frustration of making the back-up, installing the update, removing the update, re-installing the back-up if then update is known to be a problem.

About to do that update myself. Is this a widespread problem for other folks as well ?
In a word - No. Backups are a universal process for anything. - No/yes ?? 🙄;)
I would say it's in the middle somewhere. It's not widespread, but it is fairly common for people that don't do backups, especially on updates and upgrades. Just make backups a standard practice, and you should be good.

But that’s the point - you just got frustrated 😊. Do you have laptop/desktops & back those up ? Settings can be saved to a usb.

This happened to me, a while back. Then I discovered that the update process had helpfully left a copy of all the configs on the USB stick.

It's in a folder called settings_archive, and the system does this every time you do a firmware upgrade. Just load the appropriate file to the Skyview, and it all comes back.
