Anybody know if there are any plans for ADS-B to eventually broadcast lightning strike data? Always looking for new goodies, but a Stormscope is out of my budget :)

Just curious what's planned for the future for this system (also, things like Nexrad time-series of storm cells, etc.)

Would sure be cool if that was in the works...

FAA says they will soon (?) be including lightning strike data. Looking forward to being able to display that.

They're on our radar (see what I did there?). We probably won't have support on day 1, but lightning especially is one of the top weather wish list items from what we've seen.

If you have web access, this is an amazing resource re: lightning... even shows the thunder zone as it expands at the speed of sound...  I have watched during several storms at the house - when outside there is a bright flash with quick, loud thunder, it does indeed show up as having been very close to the house.

While the dynon skyview solution for lightning strikes does not arrive, has anyone managed to install a storm wx-950 on their panel, with the stabilization of heading, having a garmim or king gps signal ?? :-/

FAA apparently says this June:

Look forward to a couple of these new products showing on SV. Wonder if it will be braphical or text? Or both :). Anyone know what the actual data consists of?
