Still running my Skyview setup on the bench in the (wooden) garage, but installed the new 15.3 version software and updated the 472 firmware. I now saw my first plane reporting it's overhead position. Prior to the installation the Skyview system would come on when I switched the battery power on and when I switched the battery off the Skyview would count down from 30 and shut down (or when the stay on button was pressed keep running on the Skyview battery.
Now the Skyview will no longer 'see' that the external battery power is switched on and I need to press button 1 to get the Skyview to power on. Once powered all seems correct and the Skyview reports normal voltages on the bus (14.5 Volt) and the internal battery reports charging. Similar happens when the (external) battery is switched off, Skyview doesn't see this and only by pressing button 1 the power will shut down. This means that I don't get the dialog 'counting down 30 sec' or the option to start the internal battery test.
Has anything changed with the new software release, is there any configuration setting that controls this behavior?

I've also installed 15.3.3 but haven't seen any change in the power on/off behavior. Seems like it works like it always did ...

OK, thanks. Still it seems too much of a coincidence; I started up Skyview before the update by flipping the switch on the battery an Skyview cane up as it used to, I plugged the USB stick and I uploaded the new version and the latest FAA databases. Then I updated the 472 firmware and the transponder software and did the required power cycles. Then when I came back later the Skyview display was off (other avionics were still powered) and I had to press button 1 to get the Skyview to startup. I tried a few times now and Skyview doesn't react anymore to the cycling of the power switch on the battery, neither for power on or for power off.

OK, solved the issue. The Skyview power fuse had given up (5A fused at 12 Volt, but I had been charging the internal Skyview battery). So when I tried running and pressing the button 1, Skyview came on running on the Skyview battery, not the external battery that I was switching, replaced the fuse and all seems back to normal now

How are you charging the internal battery? I thought the only way was to fly?

The (Dynon) internal battery will be charged whenever the voltage on the Dynon power lines exceeds XXX Volts (see the manual). So when I am running with the (external) battery charger connected to the (external) battery the Dynon sees a supply voltage that is high enough to start charging the (Dynon) internal battery. So it is not explicitly related to the flying but to the fact that the external battery is being charged since that is nominal the case when the battery (Dynon supply voltage) is high enough, if you are just running of the external battery the Dynon supply voltage is not high enough to have the Dynon decide to start charging the internal battery.

I hook a charger to the aircraft battery while I'm doing my annual. With all the electronic equipment (VP-X, EFII, P-Mags, etc) plus the Skyview system I spend some time installing updates and checking configurations during the annual so the Master is on quite a bit. Plus I do the annual Skyview battery check which pretty much depletes that battery. After the Skyview battery test I leave the Master on overnight to charge the backup battery. I know that when I go to fly for the first time after the annual all the batteries are charged up.
