Hi
Here's one mainly for other Europeans doing the PowerFLARM thing...
We've just installed a PowerFLARM Core and it's connected up to our dual SkyViews.
Although we have a green light on the PF Core box and 'Flarm OK' on the SV MAP, we don't seem to be picking up any traffic - transponder or Flarm.
SV transponder is 'on/alt', GPS locked on.
With a portable Flarm unit nearby, we are obviously transmitting Flarm okay as that is indicating it is receiving.
The SV PFD and MAP settings are to display 'all' traffic and everything seems fine on the Serial Input device settings - baud rate 9600 etc etc.
We have SV set to 'Flarm traffic' as the device setting.
On the PF Core we followed advice and set this to 'Garmin TIS'. [Not sure if I'm allowed to type 'Garmin' here - I certainly don't want to...]
One thing I have seen is a licence (unlock code) is required by Flarm for Garmin TIS but I don't know if that's when it is connected to a Garmin device or to enable the PF Core to output the info in 'Garmin TIS' language that SV understands.
On the PF Core output data that downloads to the USB it does flag up 'TIS licence' and then 'no grandfather rights'. Perhaps older units got free Garmin TIS and now you have to pay.
We've tried most things - including checking a friend's settings on a similar set up although that's been going for three or four years (so perhaps got the grandfather rights).
Anyone think of any SV settings we've missed? Any help will be much appreciated.
PS We've also installed the Dynon X83 com - that is an impressive bit of kit!
