Good evening.  I want to report an error in how a TFR active this past weekend in the northeast was being displayed on the Skyview screen.  I have a legacy  ADSB-470 box.  This error was reported to me the last time a Presidential TFR was in effect in the NJ area and I asked him to report it to Dynon (not sure if he did).  I flew both Saturday and Sunday myself this time and the TFR overlay image had a strange triangle appear inside of it that was clear.  Foreflight displayed the expected concentric circles of a standard Presidential TFR so I assume its something unique to Skyview/software??

We've seen occasional errors in the geometry that the ADS-B system reports. Out of curiosity, was ForeFlight getting its TFR's from an internet connection or from a Stratus?

Dynon,

I apologize if this was answered elsewhere, or updated.

I have asked Foreflight if it receives weather data from Skyview ADSB-470.  No response from Foreflight, and I believe Dynon comment previously - Foreflight receives it accidentally.

My Foreflight receives Weather from my ADSB-470.

I have not found any formal statement.

Can you help clarify?  Thanks   Tim

If you do not have a Stratus tied to FF but have the Dynon WiFi dongle, FF can connect and get traffic and weather from the EFIS (not directly from the 470/472, per se). This functionality is provided by FF, for the most part.

We have had reports that that Foreflight's software will receive ADS-B from SkyView even though it's not an officially supported source at this time.

Until Foreflight announces that it's something they officially support, then you won't be able to get a statement from them or help in using it, but from what we know, it does work in the current Foreflight version.

That is nothing short of outstanding.

I may have spoken incorrectly. I know FF gets weather from my Skyview system (SV1000T) but don't recall if traffic is also present since I don't really use FF for much more than route updates. Skyview has it all so that's where my focus is when looking for ADS-B reported traffic.

Dynon,

Thanks.  Glad I did not miss the correct information.  I did fly a four hour cross country (IFR student) and the WX on Foreflight was awesome!!

I do not believe traffic was displayed on this recent flight.

I am about to upgrade to the SV-ADSB-472.  I really hope the current capabilities (displaying Weather) continue.  Would be nice if Foreflight formally supported - I know, I will contact them again ;D

Thanks  Tim

I posted this originally a number of weeks ago and failed to look back at the responses.  Bottom line, Skyview software and/or 470 box are failing to correctly display the various TFRs in our area.  The first time I reported this was in early June.  This past weekend, Pres. Trump was in NJ and again, the Skyview screen is showing this buggy depiction of the active TFR.  It has nothing to do with Foreflight.

I understand from a post on VAF, that Dynon is now aware of the bug and are working on it, but it would be best for someone from Dynon to confirm that on this message board.

Thank you.
