While on port #5 on the skyview and the rx counter is going up, does anyone know how long this takes.
What about sentence errors? How do you deal with those?

Thanks, John

Hopefully I understand your question correctly.

The RX counter will go up while the GPS 250 is receiving data. I cannot say why you have sentence errors but it could be related to poor signal while in a hangar.

There is no "dealing with sentence errors," per se. The system is simply telling you (IMO) that some errors occurred while receiving data. I believe the counters reset upon power cycle of the EFIS.

Thanks Ray, My problem is the rx counter was still counting up for 7 1/2 hrs and still going till I shut it down because I had to leave. Seems excessive.
What screen comes up when it is finished, the avionics screen?

Thanks again, John

I don't think you understand...the count will increase ad infinitum...it's just saying how many packets it's receiving from whatever is connected to that port (the SV-GPS-250 in this case).

It will never "finish", and if you chose to leave that page displayed, it will display that ever-increasing count forever.

What do you *think* it's doing that it would "finish", out of curiousity?

My avionics screen has a red x across it. The engine instrument screen and the gps screen are there. I,m trying to get my screen for the avionics back. I must be way off track with my thinking.

Anyone know how to do this?

I will call tech in a couple days if I can't figure it out.

What do you mean "avionics screen"? Likewise, "gps screen"? Do you mean PFD and MAP pages?

Can you post a pic of what you're seeing?

Your right Steve, I have the EMS and Map pages, missing the PFD screen. Sorry for the confusion!

So the TX (transmit) and RX (receive) counters are low level indicators of what the connected electronic hardware is doing. In the case of the SV-GPS-250/2020, you'll ALWAYS see the RX counter increasing when it's working. This is because the GPS is continuously transmitting its position, over and over, for SkyView to process. From your description, we should probably have our support team work with you to fully understand what you're seeing. Give them a call at 425-402-0433 so that they can help you troubleshoot further.

Is the ADAHRS properly connected and configured? I believe you'd see the red X on the PFD if there is no ADAHRS...

Have you completely read the Installation Manual?

I did not install this Dynon. Purchased the plane with it already in it. Was working fine till I turned it on one day and had the infamous x on the screen.
Have a slow blinking red light on the ADAHRS.
As said I have every screen except PFD screen.

Well, now would be a good time to acquaint yourself with the Installation Manual (and the User's Manual).

See p. 21-6.

"Flashing Slowly: The module is operating normally, but is not active on SkyView Network."

Check the network connections.

Also, see P. 12-1 in the User Manual.
