Is anyone else having this problem?  I've been running the software for over a year.  Windows 10.  Suddenly started crashing on startup.  I download the program to a totally different PC that has never had it on it.  Installed.  Run it and it crashes also.  Have contacted their Tech Support.  Everything they have suggested has not worked.  Wonder if it's just me... Skyview is an excellent product, the charts make it better.  I want my charts!!!!  (not sure why this forum says I am a "New Member" since I've been registered for 1400+ days..._)

As a test, I downloaded and installed on my Win7 laptop and it started fine.

Try right-clicking the app or installer and Run as Administrator.

Thanks Ray. Seattle Avionics Tech Support suggested that as well. In my case it made no difference in either the Windows 7 or Windows 10 installations. I was surprised that they said they have no debug mode the program can run under, which would be a way to have an extended crash report that they could analyze to try to resolve the issue. Oh well. Thanks again.

They would have to provide a debug build of the product to enable that type of ability, which is not common for any software product.

Other things to try that they may have already recommended:

* Disable the Windows firewall
* Disable Anti-Virus (many of these also have a firewall)
* Create a new user account, logon and try again
* Boot Windows to safe-mode with networking and try again

Re: Seattle Avionics Data Manager NOT CRASHING

Shot myself in the foot on this one.  Problem solved.  Here is what was wrong: Under the Windows Region Language Preference, I had changed my "Short Date" format to "dddd, MMM-dd-yy" so the day of the week would appear in my clock in my task bar.  This was crashing the program.  I changed the format to "dd-MMM-yy" and now the program no longer crashes. This explains why it was crashing on three different computers - I had made this date format change on all three computers.  My bad!

Glad you figured it out Jacky. Wonder if other people who have been having problems also have the date format set to something other than standard format? Did you let Seattle Avionics tech support know about your solution? Their program needs to be updated to be able to handle different date formats automatically, it seems to me.

Just noticed your reply. I did let Seattle know what it ended up being. I guess it's hard to program for every possible PC configuration. Thanks for the reply.
