Skyview Touch calibration

Hello,

I just bought a Zodiac CH 601 XL with a Skyview Touch installed. The previous owner didn’t take care of it at all. It still has the factory installed firmware, version 12.xxx if I remember well. Battery test was never performed.

I noticed 3 things during my flights:
Autopilot always overshoots target, but not just a little. With a 180 degree turn, it turns at least 270 degree, then starts the correction. It never ends up in a straight flight.

In the air I noticed a ~30 second long freeze two times. The whole screen just stopped refreshing (it showed the latest state before the freeze), buttons were inactive too. After that everything continued to work normally (without restart)

The attitude indicator shows that the plane banks left, even in straight and level flight. The digital slip ball is always a little bit on the right side. See the attached image. Another strange thing, in the lower left corner it shows a 57mph crosswind. But it was a calm day with 10mph max wind.

I’ve read through the manual and it turned out that I need to perform the followings:
- Software update, engine definition update
- Battery test
- Autopilot reset to defaults, in flight calibration
- ADAHRS calibration, manually adjust to be in level flight position

Please advise me if the previous steps are correct or if I forgot something from the list?

Thank you,
Balázs

Sounds like the AD-AHRS is not properly installed. You will need to re-mount it to meet the installation requirements.

Once that is done, I think most of the unusual readings will be fixed but you may still need to adjust the auto-pilot settings.

Also, compass calibration will most likely correct that crosswind.
No volts or amps? Need to look at the wiring.

Try to get your fuel pressure sensor working, too. The voice and screen annunciation gives you precious 10-15 seconds heads-up on an empty tank before the engine quits...

Thanks so much for all of you! I have written down the suggestions and will perform those actions as soon as possible.

When I updated the Skyview firmware from 12.2 to 15.2 today, I got a SYSTEM EVENT 5 warning. I just filled the required form to notify Dynon about the problem, they said that it's an SSD related issue. Now I have to send my Skyview to the U.S., once it gets back I can start to solve the remaining problems.

Safe landings for all of you!
