I'm surprised the SV Touch (classic) is still available to purchase. Maybe they had a bunch on the shelf and are slowly selling them to folks that want to save a few bucks over the HDX.

I hope to upgrade to HDX sometime in the next year and will be selling my classic screens to the highest bidder.

Ray,

All of the above withstanding, please point out some of your favorite features the HDX has over your current setup.

Thank you in advance. . .

I have not flown with an HDX but have done a few button pushes on one belonging to a friend. The only thing that I envy on the HDX, with my limited knowledge, is the EMS displayed across the bottom option. Of course that is a feature Dynon could add in a software update but have not chosen to do so far.

As already mentioned, the EMS widgets across the bottom but also the map is decluttered with the use of a side bar for the information that clutters the legacy screen map. Also, the higher resolution is quite nice.

In general, you get more viability to the PFD and map, IMO.

Yes, this is true. SkyView Touch is being sunset, although we haven't made an official announcment (support, of course, will continue). SkyView HDX, SkyView Classic, and SkyView SE will all remain available.

Shame! I really love the touch features over the non touch panel.I see every reason to keep that and sunset the non touch, but knowing Dynon there is something better to replace the touch screen.
As for HDX, I would go that way except that means completely replacing (note not upgrading) the screens and the screens work very nicely. If there ever came a HDX upgrade ;) I would seriously consider that route.

Agreed. I initially did the upgrade to touch just to get the latest version of everything for not much investment, thinking I wouldn't really care about the touchscreen capabilities, but after using it I found that I *loved* the touchscreen features. Much, much easier to use for many things than buttons and knobs.

A shame, but as long as support continues for it (bug fixes, new features as possible), I'm good with what I have.

I'll be watching!  I've been keeping my eye on the eBay offerings and intend to pick one up when the prices decline some more.  Having quite a few hundred hours behind each of the SV-Classic, SV-T, and HDX, I consider the HDX to be significantly inferior to the SV-T.  Keeping one or two Touches on the shelf should provide the needed insurance to keep my airplane going for as long as I'm gonna fly it.

Might also want to check the VAF classifieds. ;)
