Worst, and probably the most common, response from tech support (or mechanics, or parts suppliers, etc.):

"I've never seen that before." Or its common variation, "It's working fine for me."
Sorry, you're still not getting my point.

I have never tried to make the case that the issues being seen by some don't exist, or that the Database Manager isn't at fault.

I never suggested you should be the one to troubleshoot your issue(s) or anyone else's.

I never said, "that there's no way it could be a software problem". It very well could be. But that doesn't mean it is either. The only way you'd know is if you found a smoking gun, which you haven't. By the way, what is "it" exactly? Are you assuming everyone has the same issue or issues as you?

I didn't say "it's working fine for me" as a way to dismiss you having problems. I believe you are having problems, and I believe others are experiencing problems as well. I'm not calling anyone a liar. But as I pointed out, even the venerable iPad has its share of "problems".

Those were never my positions or my point and I never said anything that in the slightest that meant those things.

I even stated that I'd be first in line to call it crappy if I had evidence that showed that.

You somehow made those assumptions because I didn't just get on your bandwagon in bashing the SA software. You even insinuated I was in their camp (as an employee or something) as if there were sides to take and you were upset I didn't just let you web-bash the SA software, "again".

I'm not defending the SA Software, I'm defending against illogic and unjustified web-bashing.

You seem to be full of assumptions and yet no solutions. I at least offered some constructive things to try that have some theory behind them.

My one and only basic point to all of this:

I just don't believe you are justified in just declaring it crappy software, especially when you still don't know the nature of the problem(s) you are having, plus the simple and undeniable fact (unless you are calling others liars) that it does indeed do the job for myself and others (yes I don't know how many others and neither do you).

I too have been SOO frustrated with SA for over a year. I too didnt know it would only work on Windows and bought a cheap PC just for SA downloads. I do just the updates and it takes over 20 minutes per stick . This isn’t 1984 and it should just work better. got a note about a new data manger coming that was in beta, I volunteered months ago….nothing

Same here - for myself and Bill Repucci, we are both long time beta testers. Volunteered for it, were told we would be contacted "next week" and now two months later, crickets....

I have been vocal in the past about the bleeding abortion that the current SA software is. I would dearly love to be just as vocal about how good the new version is - but they won't release it.

FWIW, yes, I volunteered to beta test the new vaporware, and never heard a peep from SA.

The new vaporware from SA has been released to a few beta-testers, myself included. Overall I don't see much change except they fixed a bug that was granting access to FlyQ users to all other types of data - so they were only covering their own butt revenue-wise on this software change.

There is one thing different that I would like Dynon's opinion on before I got stick one of their USB's in my panel though - the new software generates a Dynon .DUC file on the USB, 6 kilobytes, I want to know what that is for. Are we tracking the dates of the databases now for possible autoload?

Example file is attached here.

It looks like that's probably a bug, but their intent to grab the current data off of our website and deposit it on the stick so that it can be loaded in the normal way. That file is definitely megabytes though, not kilobytes.
