As you discuss things, please be clear what you want so we can understand.
For example- below, I see "flight planning" as a term thrown around, but at Dynon we think of this as the flight planning menu, where you create routes between points. But Trev makes it clear that what he means by flight planning is a basemap of cities and roads.
I also see "VNAV" - is this using the Dynon flight planning to plan altitudes at given points along the route, or is it allowing the autopilot to follow vertical commands from an external, certified GPS navigator and/or a glideslope receiver?
So, the clearer you make your request, the better we can help get those implemented. Don't assume that everyone has the same definition of a term like "flight planning" - it seems that in the mapping world there is a lot of crossover of terms.
While making absolutely, positively NO PROMISES about what we will release next, what we are working on is:
1) Weather (yes, this is USA/Canada only but customer here really want it, and that's still the majority of our user base)
2) Audio outputs and alerts
3) User waypoints
4) Virtual VOR from a GPS waypoint
Other future high priority items are external GPS flight plan cross-filling, datalogging, multiple AHRS autoamted cross-checking, better international databases, and of course all sorts of Autopilot enhancements.
One of our limitations around here is that we do have specialists in areas of our software, so while we have a great team of programmers, it doesn't always make sense for us to try and do a ton of any one thing (like the map) in a given release since that will lead to some inefficiencies.
