    Autopilot Calibration

What does this mean? If you trim for a particular IAS, and then engage the A/P to hold altitude, there's only one pitch attitude that will accomplish this. How could the plane possibly be flying at a different AOA at the same IAS as before, with no changes to the airframe?

CHT reads too high on Cyl. #3, in high power situations D-180

While it may certainly be an instrumentation issue, and doing what Ken suggests is a way to isolate it to that, if the problem doesn't follow the probe or the wire, then either there's something wrong with the D-180 itself but only for Cyl. #3 (which would be extremely unlikely), or (far more...

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

You posted this in the Experimental and LSA section of the forum - how are you "stuck" with the TT? Why? What advantage does that confer? How does that change what the airplane does?

    ARINC 429 Driving TruTrak Autopilot

No they're not. Although GRT, MGL, Dynon and Trutrak servos look similar, none of them are interchangeable, and certainly none are interchangeable with Garmin servos. But I'd definitely recommend selling the TT system to someone that wants a standalone A/P and get two Dynon servos. Then the A/P...

    Pitch Bucking during VNAV Approach

Check for new play between the pitch servo and the elevator pushrod. If there's substantial hysteresis in the system, this type of behavior can occur. There was also a new parameter for "play" in the system added a revision or two ago - don't remember the name - but you can look at the value for...

Suggestion to update Local Time as you fly through different time zones

The data source is the map. My iPhone knows where it is, so knows what time zone it's in. There's no reason that the Skyview can't do the same. There are a zillion little things like that that Dynon COULD do to make usage a lot nicer. I've been waiting for the "Nearest" list to rearrange itself...

    Databases, settings, quirks

Well, it's not just a preference :-). Having performed the System Safety Analysis for Spaceship 2, White Knight 2 and Rocket Motor 2 when I was at Scaled, it became very clear when creating the fault trees that a far higher percentage of "incorrect information" faults were classified as...

    Databases, settings, quirks

In relation to what? Other EFISs? Your desktop computer? Your nephew's implementation of chess running on an Arduino? There are bugs - it's a bunch of electronics and software. Having a safety related bug pop up (and this can ONLY happen in IMC - if you're in VMC, the EFIS does NOT affect...

    Shunt breakage

My comment was not about knowing whether the battery is charging or not charging. It was about knowing the battery health. I know what makes a battery charge (or discharge). But with my batteries fully charged to 13.2V, a bus voltage of 14.4V will still result in a current draw into the battery...

    Shunt breakage

Marc has two EarthX lithium batteries in his plane, and what Marc stated was correct for those, as well :-). Right after starting, I'll see 30A - 50A of charge into each battery, but within a minute or two, it'll be down to 0A - 1A, as indicated is reasonable for a healthy battery. No difference...

    Shunt breakage

I will respectfully disagree. If one installs an ammeter shunt in the appropriate place (to measure current in and out of the battery), one can get a real-time measure of the battery health. There are three ways of installing the ammeter shunt: Alternator Output Bus Load Battery In/Out I will...

    SV-AP-TrimAmp yeah or nay?

Ray Allen servos don't pull enough current to require the TirmAmp. Check the installation manual for current draw capability, and Ray Allen's manual for current draw.

Engine, EGT and CHT Sensor compatibility with SV-EMS-220 variants

No, you are not correct. The Bendix, Airflow Performance, and Precision Airmotive mechanical fuel injection systems all have a distribution block, downstream of the servo (look for where the output hose of the servo goes) with (for an O-360) four stainless steel lines that go to fittings just...

Engine, EGT and CHT Sensor compatibility with SV-EMS-220 variants

Looks more like an FM-200 Airflow Performance Fuel Injection Servo. Just removed one from my engine for an SDS EI/EFII system. Injected. The only difference is the pressure range of the fuel pressure sender - everything else is identical. The FI systems use a higher pressure than the carbureted...

    XM weather

Garmin's G3X has the ability to receive Sirius XM weather through either the GDL-51R or GDL-52R modules. Some incentive for Dynon (although that never actually seems to incentivize them - I've been trying to get them to spit out AGL in their datastream and output data for years now (which Garmin...

D100 horizon doesn’t align with wings level

This. The ADAHRS must be level. And the rest of the comment from @GKC Aviation

D100 horizon doesn’t align with wings level

I think you meant the ADAHRS - the magnetometer has nothing to do with wing level display.

    Seattle Avionics, Airmate, or Nothing?

No. All the Garmin can do is feed the HSI/CDI and flight plan (and approaches, etc.). But it gives no map information to the Skyview, either VFR or IFR. You can't display Sectionals, IFR Low/High charts, or approach plates on the Dynon. You have to be able to display approach plates somewhere...

    G5 compatibility

Well, maybe I'm full of crap. After I get my engine installed and do a few approaches for practice, I'll know whether I'm blowing smoke or not. I THOUGHT that it worked with just the serial connection...
