Audio Level Issue after upgrading to v16.3.2

You probably lowered the audio setting for the Dynon alerts to something more desirable didn’t you?

    Choosing an IFR GPS navigator

I have a GTN650 in an RV10 along with 2 HDX1100’s as PFD’s and a HDX800 in the middle for engine instruments. I chose the GTN650 because it gave me 3 things I needed. An IFR GPS with LPV capability, another COM and a conventional NAV radio to do ILS approaches. Typing in fixes was a pain until...

    Fuel widget position

Go to Setup (buttons 7&8) then EMS and select which display mode you want to edit (100%, 50%, or bottom band). I suspect this is bottom band mode because mine was reversed in that mode also. You can select either instruments or info to edit. Select instruments and select a fuel gage. Once...

    Aithre C0 detector

I installed an Aithre C0 detector in my Skyview system. The Aithre was displaying substantial amounts of C0 through the Skyview, but 0 through the Bluetooth connection to my phone. It turned out I needed a software patch from Dynon to make it display properly. Dynon also has a widget for the...

Question on AOT sensors with dual ADAHRS

The probes should be mounted under the wing, (out of the sun) and far enough outboard that the exhaust stream does not have any impact on them. I mounted mine about 12” outboard of the wing root fairing on my RV10, but even further out would be fine.

    Skyview Wish List

Garmin has a long history of not collaborating with anyone. In fact just the opposite. They usually try to lock you out of using any equipment that is not theirs. When I bought a GTN650 a few years Garmin would not give me an install manual (after spending $10,000 on it). No tech support was...

    CO detector

I installed a Aithre CO detector. When I turned on the system the CO detector indicated 18-19 ppm. I called Aithre and they told me that I need an update to the EMS files. I wrote Dynon and they sent me a patch in less than an hour. The CO detector works fine now. As usual Dynon tech support was...

    Yaw Damper RV10

I converted my yaw damper to a capstan drive on my RV10. It works perfectly now and keeps the ball centered from a Vx full power climb to a high speed descent. With the capstan drive the same servo has about twice the torque because the arm it is pulling on is half as long. Another advantage is...

    Yaw Damper RV10

The Dynon yaw damper on my RV10 is a little weak to keep the ball centered in all normal pitch and airspeed combinations. I have a fixed trim tab and have adjusted it a few times, but I can’t get it to fly ball centered at both low speed in a climb and high speed in a descent because it does not...

    Dual ADAHARS installations

I do fly IFR part of the time. I don’t plan on shooting the ILS down to 200 and 1/2 anymore. My weather minimums are higher than when I was flying jets for a living. However I wanted enough reduncy to keep me out of trouble. I also installed 2 alternators since the aircraft is all electric. I am...

    Dynon and Avidyne IFD

I have a Garmin 650 in my RV10 along with 3 Dynon screens. The com works fine through the PS Engineering audio panel and the ARINC 429 data goes to my EFIS just fine. The Skyview system gives me everything else I need for IFR. I think for another $1,500, Garmin has a module to upload flight my...

    Dual ADAHARS installations

I have 2 ADAHARS and 3 screens capable of displaying flight instruments. The object was to prevent one failure from killing all my attitude and air data. The way it is wired now, no single connection failure can kill my Attitude/air data. This is better than having 4 D9 connectors in series, any...

    Dual ADAHARS installations

Electronic equipment is fairly notorious for suddenly quitting without warning. I can’t imagine flying IFR with one radio. Lost com in that situation denies you the ability to get current weather and other information that may be useful. It also requires ATC to lock up large portions of airspace...

    Dual ADAHARS installations

The D9 connectors are what I am most worried about. The chances of a break in the wire is quite remote. With my installation, any one of 4 D9 connectors coming loose would result in no ADAHARS information being available anywhere. The connections that would fail everything are either end of the...

    Dual ADAHARS installations

I have a Skyview 3 screen setup in my RV10. I have a 10” screen on each side set up as PFD’s and a 7” screen in the middle for engine instruments. When I originally installed the ADAHARS I did what the Dynon manual said and used a splitter to join the the ADAHARS together and run one cable...

Pirch Trim Indicator running in reverse

thibault, if this is the way it was intended to work, it is opposite every pitch trim indicator in every aircraft I have ever flown in 30 years of flying. I do have the SV-AP PANEL and I may try retiring it to that.

Pirch Trim Indicator running in reverse

I thought about reversing the 5V and ground, but the Vertical Power rep told me that won’t work. However he was wrong about everything else he told me so he that may work. I will look into wiring directly into the EMS.

Pirch Trim Indicator running in reverse

I already recalibrated the the pitch trim and the roll trim.

Pirch Trim Indicator running in reverse

I am building an RV10 I have 2 HDX1100 screens (one in front of each pilot, my wife was a Pro pilot also) and a HXD800 in the middle for engine instruments. I also have a Vertical Power Pro for switching and circuit protection. The Pitch and Roll trims are wired through the Vertical Power Pro...
