    Aera 660

    I did an installation a few years back and it worked fine. I cannot recall if it had AP servo's or not, but it would not matter, the HSI functionality worked and that is what the AP follows.

    V16 Update

    Excuse my sloppy hand flown ILS (taken by my checkie), but I see a wind vector here, albeit not any significant wind at this time, but it certainly works. Not sure why yours is not.

    HS34 Questions

    The Nav Source button will cycle you through all the inputs so you will be fine.

    HS34->ARINC->430W not showing OBS

    Dave, Go into the config mode and make sure your 430W is outputting those test signals. It sounds like you have a 430W fault, either config or an actual hardware fault. That test page is telling you something.

    Version 16 Firmware

    Changing back to V15 will not help you, contact Dynon directly. But before you do. Please verify that if you have two screens you ran the upgrade on one screen then the other and ALL items were connected to the network and powered up. Such as AP servo's. Not that this seems to be your issue.

    HS34->ARINC->430W not showing OBS

    That was 2009............. I have SV and HDX since. But from memory yes it did work both ways. Read the Installation manual about the settings in the 430W, otherwise the ARINC in will not work

    P-Lead 30K ohm resistor location?

    Your problem was the resistors/crimps and not the location. I prefer the old method of the resistor at the mag. That way the wire running up into the EMS (long antennae) is less likely to spread noise into other things behind your panel. Having the mag switch run is enough noise generator...

    HS34->ARINC->430W not showing OBS

    Setting missed? There are very clear setup instructions in the manual. read carefully. You may have not set the 430W up right. You also only mention half the HS34 pins. Here is a snip of my drawing from back 12 years ago when I had Classic panels. You mention GPS data pins not NAV.

    SV- ADAHRS

    I would be working on the 2' rule of thumb at least. You may get away with less but why risk it. They do emit noise that can effect VHF coms, so avoid long runs of coax and the GPS cables together.

    Aithre Shield config files

    If anyone has the 3.0, there is a newer file generated on the 25th of November from memory. This sorts out the O2 pressure gauge.

    GPS 250 vs 2020 if IFR GPS installed

    I am in favour of the 2020, but the chances of a GPS175 failure I think a 250 is fine. But hey a 2020 is better.

    SV-GPS-2020 mounting under the cowling?

    RV8JD That may work fine, not as per the manual though. Match it with another GPS alongside, and you may suffer sub-optimal performance. Just because that works does not make it "best practise"

    SV-GPS-2020 mounting under the cowling?

    Geez some of you get your knickers in a twist pretty easy. Read my previous post carefully again and with the intent it was written. Save yourself the possible drama and just do it properly. Like shielded cable for audio runs, sure you can get away with it, but chances are you will get noise...

    SkyView autopilot failure modes information

    With all due respect, this is a forum for Dynon users and one where the company has zero obligation to comment. Any open ended questions are open to the floor, and maybe I missed something but so far I have not seen anyone address Dynon directly. I would also suggest the best way to do that is...

    SV-GPS-2020 mounting under the cowling?

    This is a pet topic of mine. Just because somebody says on the internet it works fine, does not mean it is the best or appropriate place. This is not open for argument. People do find their GPS works like this, but how well it works compared to being installed properly is another matter and...

    SkyView autopilot failure modes information

    Marc, My point is, Rick asked a series of very open ended questions.......and that could lead to more and more and more^6. This is an internet forum, I do not work for Dynon and I only have some of the answers and could only guess at the rest. Nobody is paying me for days worth of responses and...

    Help me decide on a backup

    If I was thinking something similar, and I am, and have ben for a long time, I would hold my horses for just a tiny bit longer and not buy anything else. The D3 is great for portability, but I know what you want and I strongly suggest waiting a bit. :) No questions, please.....just watch this...

    SkyView autopilot failure modes information

    Too many undefined questions. What if you lose static? Meaning the two ports are plugged simultaneously, or the tube falls off in the tail cone, or the ADAHRS has a component failure? The results would vary from no much to a reported fault. Do you have a 200&201? You could go for days, years...

    SkyView autopilot failure modes information

    The AP simply follows the FD, so whatever mode the FD is in is what will be affected. Obviously static affects everything. IAS, well there is a backup to that for the attitude algorithms called GPS assist. Your lateral modes would be fine. Pitch is a bit dependent. What are you planning Rick? ;-)
